Personally, I think it tastes gross. One of my first deer hunts i didnt bleed it, and about all of the meat was aweful, even the jerky.

Anyway, I think the jist of theverses you posted are to show how important blood is to life. I think we get a hint of this when scripture says the blood of Able cries out. God always hears our cry and it reminds me of how we are to be compassionate as I am reminded of Exodus 23:19.

In John 6, Jesus says some pretty awkward things, including the statements of eating His flesh and drinking His blood.... and as Peter correctly said, (NIV) 68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”

Even for health reasons I wouldn't eat it. Disease is carried in the blood. Just a personal view.

I'm with you as it is gross. The law prohibited it and under the better covenant of grace Jesus used the wine and the bread in remembrance for the sacrifice He made for all. Communion is a memorial to Christ life, death and resurrection for as often as we do this it is done in remembrance of Him.

Evil feeds of the wasted life energy of others. Fear is a form of wasted life energy.
The question is, what is one's intention. Most don't harbour such intensions.

There is more evidence of seeing those who feed of others fears, regardless of how subtle, such as gloating. Gaining pleasure at others misfortunes, mistakes, errors etc. Eye for an eye is so common. So keen to throw the first stone.

There are cultures around the world that make blood pudding, blood sausage and blood soup.

"For the life of every creature is its blood: its blood is its life."
The blood of life of every creature is physical and mortal.
The blood of life of Christ, in the Eucharist, is divine and of eternal life.

I wonder these days if this age presently and that which is ahead of us will ever hold anything sacred. That question could be asked by Christians, to their shame, as a whole.

These Scriptures, to me, carry a lot of seriousness with them. I don't eat meat with the blood still in it just because at one time God prohibited it. If it was good in the eyes of God at one time, I believe that our Lord God would still favor the person who honored His Person now by abstaining from bloody meat.

Personally, I'd like to see a revival of finding new ways to honor our Master and Savior Jesus Christ and our Abba Father. It seems to me that putting the Godhead first, whereby the three of them actually feel honored and important in my life and functions each day.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to actually know that every time Almighty God looked my way, He smiled out of love....May it be for all of us.

Every time I see you post anywhere on the board my heart jumps with joy that your still alive and being such a blessing to everyone around you. Know that I think of you often, especially when I dont hear from you.

God is answering your prayers and my marriage is the best it's ever been. Our son is back home and we feel like a functioning family once more. There are scars from days past, but it all works to the glory of our savior. Thank you again for being such a dear brother in our time of deep need.

I feel as I agree with you that it saddens my heart that we hold very little sacred anymore, especially life, as the scripture you pointed out teaches us. Actually, I am most reminded of this when I catch a fish and its dying or when I shoot a deer and its hanging to bleed it out. Life is precious, and it, among other things should be held as sacred. Thank you so much for this dear reminder.

Thank you also for the reminder that anything we do in honor of our Lord brings Him great joy because what we do, we do unto our Lord.

When we say our dinner prayer, I sometimes ask the Lord that the nourishment we recieve from the food we eat will result in good works so that we bring honor to the blessings the Lord granted upon our food that it might be before us to eat. Your words above reminded me of this.

When the day comes that I no longer see you posting, I will be saddened. But I do know that there is joy in my heart for you because certainly the Lord will say to you on that day, "well done my good and faithful servent".

I like my steaks rare. Not super rare with a plate full of blood, just pink. When I shot my first deer my hunting buddy asked me if I was going to drink a cup of it's blood, like they say some do. No way was I going to do that and I didn't. I was already old enough that I had read those scriptures about not eating the blood. I didn't cover the entrails with earth, I left it for the coyotes.

When I was married my mother in law made blood soup one time...I think I had one spoonful, trying to show respect I guess. But it was nasty and looked and smelled nasty too. She only ever made two things that I didnt like. That blood soup was one of them, lol.

She did make a dish out of chunks of raw beef a couple times and I did eat that. It wasnt bloody but was raw and spiced up somehow. It was good. I ate that and have never felt convicted about it.

I remember after I had shot the deer and field dressed it, me and my buddy were sitting over the carcass talking about the deer and stuff. What is a deer's destiny? Is the deer's destiny to be food for man? Maybe. We will eat this deer...will the deer become human then? one with man? Lol, I don't know. But God created man and animals. When man passes over we get to live a higher level of existence...so maybe the animals will be promoted some too?

Now that I think about it a little...I remember a teaching I heard somewhere, I forget who it was. But he was saying, that the life is in the blood...but only after man fell. We were created in God's image. God is a Spirit. That supposedly the flesh body came as a result of the fall. And the life went into the blood.

Before the fall, our spirit was dominant in our being. Now the flesh is. That's probably why Jesus had to become a flesh man, in order to save His people! And later when Jesus comes back and we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye...we will get to shed this flesh body! and be a spirit being once again. One with God. I bet our life wont be in our blood then!

blood in the meat is an issue of how the animal was slaughtered and how the blood was drained/drawn out

kosher meat is where
1. a shochet slaughters the animal as per God's instructions - which happens to be humane and quick - with no stress to the animal - meaning stress toxins do not enter the meat and the blood is drained immediately and quickly
2. the meat is then soaked in water for at least 30 minutes to cause the pores to open
3. then a thick layer coarse kosher salt is rubbed into the meat and let sit on a draining/straining board for at least an hour to cause the remaining blood to be drawn out
4. the meat is then washed and considered almost completely blood free
5. some do the soaking/salting/rinsing process 2x - which makes the meat extremely tender
6. some roast the meat which also draws the blood out of the meat - thus the OT scriptures about cooking the meat in the pot and then pulling the meat out of the pot - 1 Samuel 2:13

so if you are concerned about blood in the meat you can buy kosher meat (labelled with a hechsher) or you can learn to slaughter and prepare as a shochet does and/or roast the meat

meat that has not been slaughtered properly and drained properly will have lots of blood in it - it will make the meat tough and the meat will taste awful
