What are you most afraid of? This is a serious question by the way. :yes

I do try to always trust God in my fears, even my fears for my children. Most of the time, whenever I begin to feel afraid about something, it becomes a prayer thing for me. So I don't really have a lot of fears.

Except one.

I admit to one very unreasonable phobia that I have that I cannot shake no matter how hard I try. This might sound silly, but it isn't. I have a totally unreasonable, completely unfathomable fear of moths. I hate the things. The very sight of one is enough to make my skin crawl and my heart begin to beat faster. I've actually have pulled over to the side of the road and make someone remove a moth from the car, because I cannot bear to be that close to one. There is a reason that I became this way, I had a not so nice experience with some moths as a child. But I'm afraid of them.

We own a 9 ft boa constrictor. I've handled snakes, lizards, even big hairy spiders. Can't do moths though. No way.

Being alone, the dark, that death is really it and nothing beyond, roller coasters.

Two phobia type things - I have to hit the walk button to go across the street 3 times exactly, no more and no less. When I am washing my hands I must use 5 pieces of paper towel.

Oh yes, it's been one of my fears for a long time now. Very irrational of me I know

Are you gonna tell us what you're afraid of Dave?
I use to have a great fear of snakes. I haven't allowed myself to view them (cover my eyes) or be around them. So, I am not sure if it's still a great fear. I am also afraid of having war in my backyard and not having a family.
But I know that if I had to face these things, God would help me through.

I fear forgetting who I am, so many people move on in life, they gain more wealth and alot forget who they are and where they come from, alot of them look down on people and judge, forgetting when they themselves were at the bottom, those "higher" than them looked down on them.

If having more wealth and assets means becoming less human and more selfish and judgemental, i dont want it.

Aah, you stayed up late one night and watched one too many Japanese monster movies... like Mothra. :shocked!

No, no, no! Mothra is one of the premier stars of a under-appreciated genre of film. Mothra is soooo misunderstood and if anyone would just take the time to listen to her shobijin (the beautiful tiny fairies who speak for her) they would understand that Mothra is good and benevolent. She only serves to protect her followers and her young. That Tokyo gets a bit smashed up in the process is...well...collateral damage.

Moths on the other hand.... :couch

Seriously, cannot stand to be in the same room with one. Makes the skin crawl!

You know, it really wasn't that big of a deal. I was very little, only around 3 or maybe just 4. My mom had given me a slice of watermelon and sat me out on the back step to eat it. It was late and the light was on the porch. I know that the moths were attracted to the light and possibly the sweetness of the watermelon, but anyway they kind of just descended on me, getting into my hair, batting against my face and then one flew into my mouth. That did it. I've been afraid of them ever since, even though I know (head knowledge) that they are completely harmless.

We talked about this in my youth group at church one night.

I have a few fears...

1. Being eaten alive by a bear while camping
2. Being eaten alive by a shark while snorkeling/diving.
3. Losing a limb

I don't let none of these fears stop me from hiking, camping, snorkeling, and diving. I was always told in order to overcome your fears you have to face them, so i do. Whenever i partake in such activities those thoughts always cross my mind a time or two.

Wow, those are some serious fears. I'm afraid of losing a limb too. I'd be afraid of sharks, that's why I don't dive. Plus it's expensive!
Florida has such wonderful outdoor activities, doesn't it?
Mountain biking is scary sometimes but then I remember that Florida has NO MOUNTAINS so the next stretch can't be that bad. :tongue
