I just thought of this topic while I was eating dinner since I was listening to the Hairspray soundtrack. So yeah, obviously Hairspray is one of them lol. My other favorites are Grease, Annie, The Phantom of The Opera, The Lion King, and Mary Poppins. :) What about you guys?

I also have to say that I still sort of enjoy the High School Musical films. Just not as much as back when I was a kid.

Fiddler on the Roof.

I also liked the recent one on PT Barnum a lot. The Greatest Showman? I am not sure of the name. It was not a very traditional musical. I thought the dancing was good. Pretty modern.

I have heard of The Greatest Showman since JohnDB talks about it a lot, but I have never actually seen it though.

Fiddler on the Roof was the first musical I saw when I was 17 and fell in love with it. Also like Brigadoon, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The King and I, Wizard of Oz, Meet Me in St. Louis, Yankee Doodle Dandy, South Pacific, and the list goes on as I like many of the classics.

Oh yeah, I can't believe that I completely forgot to mention The Wizard of Oz. :biggrin

What about Jesus Christ Superstar? I thought for sure that would be on the top of your list. And you haven't seen Godspell yet!

Only cause I was in the mission band in my high school musical

I was in the orchestra pit for that one, getting paid to play trumpet while in 10th grade. On opening night (!) the Conductor, Director and Producer for the current Broadway show watched it to give a review.

Their ENTIRE review: "that's an 802 brass section."

802 is the# of the Musician's local Union on Broadway. We were up to snuff! Consistent with "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all," they didn't say anything else.

It was pretty nerve racking, and that is a very challenging show to play, with some great music ...

I've played all those, although "Yankee Doodle Dandy" that you're thinking of is probably George M! About George M Cohen, who wrote Yankee Doodle Dandy.

Fiddler on the Roof and Meet Me In St Louis I played for my own HS, so I didn't get paid :sad

Since no one has mentioned the one Rick Moranis was in...

Little Shop of Horrors

"Suddenly Semore" was my favorite number in that one.

You know, you are seriously beginning to scare me. Lol! I was literally just thinking to myself that I forgot all about Little Shop of Horrors and that that was a really good one as well. :lol Lol, not only do we have a lot of things in common, but apparently also you can read minds. My cousin put on a musical at her school one time. It was rather cute. :) My favorite one was "Mean Green Mother From Outerspace," but for obvious reasons I can't post that one so here's the opening theme instead. :biggrin

Since I have the director's cut, "Don't Feed The Plants" was pretty good too.
