Ok. What image do you suppose Paul is referencing here?

Romans 1
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

.

Well, I would think that He was referencing idols. The brazen calf, all the little figurunes and statues that the Israelites used to make and worship as God. The same could be true for us in todays world if we worshipped them, of course. But we don't do we? I don't, and don't know anyone who does. I know the catholics always seem to be kissing their cross and I think that may be a bit too much. Maybe you're right brother, God is to be feared and if He doesn't like it...perhaps it's best to be very cautious about grey areas.

Bless you brother. :yes

(actually the rebuke was more for Yosef. You haven't been putting down the little girl, just posting scripture...)

Neither have I been. People are just off their rockers because I question the spirits of the cute harmless little girl.

1 John 4:1; Matthew 24:4; 1 Thessalonians 5:21; Ephesians 4:14-15; Ephesians 6:12; Romans 3:4

When it comes to the Savior's appearance, the Bible is silent. I suspect the reason for this is to eliminate racism, or ethnocentrism. God wants us to focus on Christ as the "Word made flesh" not the flesh itself. Besides that, WHO CARES?! I'm not here to slobber over Jesus like some hormonal fan girl!
However, if someone wants to imagine Jesus looking like their particular ethnicity in order to feel close to him, who am I to judge? But be weary of falling into idolitry- we humans being visual creatures can do so very easily. But the bottom line is this: It doesn't matter what Jesus looked like, it matters what He said, what He did, WHO HE IS.

The thing is it's not a mere depiction. It's a person that has visions that line up with New Age more than the bible passing off a vision of Jesus as the real Jesus.

Speaking of that, have you ever heard of "Maitreya"? That dude gives me the heebie-jeebies BIGTIME!

I have actually. When I first heard of Benjamin Creme and Maitreya I thought perhaps they would be the false prophet and beast. But now I don't think they have a strong enough following, but they should still be watched.

The problem comes when any group tries to prove that the Israelites were different from the Jews who are in Israel today and around the world. What they are claiming is that the people who say they are Jews are not the Jews, they are imposters according to these groups. The color of skin (race) is only important when it is used for this purpose.

This scripture has been used to try to prove that Jesus was of the black race and therefore, the true, natural Israelites (Jewish people) are of the black race.
Rev. 1:14His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
They use this verse to say that his hair was the texture or fuzzy like fleece. But is that what it says? No, it says His hair was white, like wool (lamb's wool) is white and white like snow is white. White is purity and Jesus is the Lamb of God. So we can know that this person in the vision is indeed Jesus.

There are white racists out there who try to make the same claims.

That's just it. There are no "grey areas". The bible is very specific regarding these images.

There is only one scripture that I know of that lends itself in any way towards the physical appearance of the man known as Jesus.

Isaiah 53:1-3
Who hath believed our report?
and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant,
and as a root out of a dry ground:
he hath no form nor comeliness;
and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

If you seek after the image of a man, then you seek after an idol.
If you seek after the spirit of God, the image of Christ will be formed in you.

If you seek after the image of a man, then you seek after an idol.
If you seek after the spirit of God, the image of Christ will be formed in you.

1 John 4:2-3 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

Jesus does have a face and I want to know what he looks like.........Someday I will :boing

how does a spirit that is omnipresent in creation have a shape? food for thought.

The spirit of the antichrist doesn't put flesh on the person of Jesus. If you cannot picture Jesus walking on earth in the flesh, you have the spirit of the antichrist. The Christ came to conquer our flesh. Not speaking to anyone in particular.
