Words we throw around just like we knew what they meant

(Eph 2:8-10)
For by grace
you have been saved
through
faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift from God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
FOR good works,
which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Four items: 1. Grace
2. Saved
3. Faith
4. Works

And one more 5. Everlasting (Eternal) Life.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Saved/Salvation

1. Saved from what?
a. From the curse of the Law
(Gal 3:13) Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law,

(Gal 3:10) For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things
which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”

b. Exactly what is that curse?
(Eze 18:20a) The soul who sins shall die.
(Ro 6:23a) For the wages of sin is death,

2. Where did the curse of death come from?
a. God’s original provisions for Adam and Eve included eternal life.

(Gen 2:9) And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that
is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the
midst of the garden, -
So Adam and Eve had free access to the tree of life.

b. When they sinned, they forfeited the right to eternal life. (Tree of Life)

(Gen 3:22-24)Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.
So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.

c. So Adam brought the curse of death to mankind.

(Ro 5:12) Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—

3. How can we be saved from this curse?
a. It required the man to be sinless and not subject to the wages of sin. (Death)
i. Jesus led a sinless life.
ii. He did not “earn” death

b. It required a man who was not a son of Adam and subject to temptation
i. Jesus’ is the son of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit.
ii. No man was involved in Jesus’ conception.

c. It required that the sinless man give his life for sinful mankind
i. Pilate declared 3 times that Jesus was innocent of any wrongdoing
ii. Pilate allowed Jesus to be crucified to avoid a riot
iii. Jesus was crucified even though He was innocent
iv. Jesus freely gave Himself as the sacrifice for our sins.

d. It required that the man who was killed have the power to be resurrected
i. Jesus is the Logos of God made flesh
ii. In Jesus, the fullness of God dwells in bodily form
iii. Jesus is both man and God

e. It required that the power of sin and death be completely destroyed.
i. By His resurrection, Jesus destroyed the power of sin and death
ii. The grave can no longer hold any human being.
iii. Because of the man, Jesus’ resurrection all of mankind will be raised

(Ro 5:17, 21) For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

…as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

f. At the resurrection, all be raised immortal never to suffer bodily death
i. After the resurrection, no one will ever bodily die again
> Man will be immortal in accordance with God’s
original purpose

ii. After the resurrection, no one will ever get sick, or old again
> “incorruption” means that our bodies do not break down

(1 Cor 15:52-54) in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on
incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this
corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on
immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written:
Death is swallowed up in victory.”

> That victory is Jesus’ victory over death.
> Death is what we are saved from.

b. It required a man who was not a son of Adam and subject to temptation
I don't think that says what you intend it to say.
Hebrews says Jesus was tempted in every way, as we are, and yet did not sin. So Jesus WAS subject to temptation. It goes with his incarnation.

I have a suspicion what you meant and intended, but prefer to allow you to speak for yourself. (because I enjoy reading it.)
