9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:9-11
He will come the same way He left.
He will be seen in His resurrected Body.
29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Matthew 24:29-31

Once again, Christ is claiming divine nature and divine sovereignty. He is not speaking of a literal bodily return.
First, the Old Covenant backgound as applied by Jesus in Matthew 24 to the destruction of Jerusalem. Second, the coming in the clouds as an identifying factor. The one coming in the clouds was to be associated with sovereignty, majesty, and judgment. A literal coming was not envisioned. Thirdly, the emphatic time limitations of the text.
Jesus returned to His pre-Son of Man Glory, Jesus is a Spirit now. John 17:5. Afterall, when we are raised up to Heaven, we wont be flesh and blood, we will be like the angels. 1 Corinthians 15:50, Matthew 22:30, Revelation 6:9-11, and Revelation 20:4. We will be souls.
Jesus is coming in the Glory of the Father. Matthew 16:27. The Father is a Spirit.
You're taking Jesus` declaration of divine sovereignty way too literally. Do you truly honestly believe we will go into heaven as souls, as transformed angelic beings, but Christ will remain flesh and blood? That Christ will still be a man, a substance of flesh, and everyone else will be of celestial substance?????
