Ephesians 4:29;
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths..."

This verse has been around since the day Bill got saved
No excuses...
along wiht a bunch of others
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

But how reputable are the studies?
Today, with everyone seeking self interest, truth is often lost to the masses as what the majority believes is all that matters.
I've explained it well. You'd have to read the entire study to determine that it's not reliable. I've seen many of these kinds of studies and they all come to similar conclusions. And to dismiss it out of hand is silly.

Dismissing Lovethroughdove as being wrong over because she defends God's word is wrong.
Why is it so important to tell her she is wrong?
Is your opinion that important?
Would it not be better to change your train of thought and be supportive of her in some way?

I'm not trying to cause trouble for you.
I see this as being a spiritual battle, where people are put down far more than anyone is shown support concerning Christian principles.
It goes on around this forum everyday.
I am thankful there are those that agree with me.
I think if others give it more thought, they will see things in a different light, a light that is more reflective of our Savior.

No one is putting anyone down.
LovethroughDove is an appreciated poster and has given her opinion.
The only problem is that a statistic is not an opinion --- it's a fact.
It's her opinion not to trust that statistic.
This is fine.

However, it IS a fact that a couple that lives together before marrying is more likely to get divorced by as much as 40%.

This is not an opinion, it's a fact.

One can not agree with it...That's their prerogative.

In my reading of Bill's thread i heard him saying what was said 50 years ago by the general public... not so much as Bill's thoughts but those of society ... re worded if He gets sex before marriage society and the bum kid loose respect for 'her' maybe it is not so much that way today....
The Youth Class I taught 10 or 11years ago was all male and over Pizza the conversations got frisky. The opinion was very similar and as I recall the terminally changed but Too Loose still mark what our generation called sluts.

My reply was deeper than a statistic.
Lovethroughdove was/is obviously upset.
She is a Christian sister.
Her feelings of being hurt by this talk is far more important than a statistic.
The subject of "what makes a good marriage" did not have to include telling a hurt Christian that she is wrong,
Lovethroughdove makes a good marriage.
We should be listening to her instead of throwing statistics in her face and telling her how wrong she is.

The whole thing tells me that people here think about themselves and what they have to say as more important then building up the body of Christ.
Why has divorce taken over this thread?
It's about "what makes a good marriage".
Divorce does not make a good marriage.

There should be no more talk about it.
We should be talking about what makes a good marriage.

What makes a good marriage is that persons should not be living with each other outside of marriage. That's the point. We live in a society where nothing holds any value anymore.
Persons in their late teens are going on vacation together to far off places.
What's wrong with saying this is wrong?

No one here said anything about LovethroughDove doing anything wrong.
We each live our personal life and no one here has the authority to judge another person's soul.

We can, however, as Christians, stand up for what we believe.
Don't you agree?

You said that two believers in Jesus will make a good marriage.
What if one is not a believer?
What would make a good marriage then?

There are non-believers that have a really good relationship.
What makes it be so good?

I guess I'm not reaching you.

Do you believe this?
Do you know what it means?
Do you know how to apply it to everything in your life?

Ephesians 6:12;
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

This is the struggle that is taking place in this thread, right now.
We can never be united if these forces continue to divide us.

No excuses...
I am not offended when people suffer with Foot In Mouth Disease but I do morn for them. Young males are not much different that they were in my day but they do lack Instructors that will permit discussions on how the scriptures are applicable to their raging, developing bodies and they never need to learn like Idid, te hard way. Today,we live in the age of friends and not parents but young men need a dad that can, verbally, walk them through the infuriating years of your to old to play with that and, "Get the Hell off of that bed with that girl, you're not old enough to do that!"

What happened to acceptance and love you demonstrated when you went by Rollo?
are you ok?

You are changing the subject that I have brought forward.
Can you deal with it first before you change the subject?

Are feelings more important than the truth? Is providing correction such a terrible thing to do?

I don't see the division.
I see beautiful things being said about marriage.
No struggle here. I try to keep my threads friendly and nice in nature.

( I only get mean in other peoples' threads!! JK)

I'm the same person Bill.
Maybe you've changed?
I have but not to the sour, nonsupporting side. Reba ripped the board over the coals and I promised her to change myself to be more acceptable and I believe I have softened a bit but I do not see that in you. You do not give any slack and the tone is harsh and cold wyhen you address me. I am still the same sorry Musician Igrew up to be, doing my best to serve the LORD in joy.
