No, I haven't seen it. I don't know if it would be really interesting or not. Reading about it kind of reminds me of the Church Of Scientology. :-?

Really? I have some non-Christian friends who seem to have really enjoyed it, but I don't know...I was hoping someone could give me some insight before I see it. Thanks Nikki...I guess no one has seen it here. I'd love to hear what a Christian thinks of it.

i loved this movie.

first off, i am not a believer that every movie must look and sound the same. i do not adhere to hollywood standards.

i liked this movie for several reasons:
1) the link behind the main characters speach impediment and how that applies to communication(by hand). when we speak, our brains transform soundwaves into language. sign language can be viewed as language however this language isn't developed based on sound waves. communication therefor exists in mulitple forms. this is an important theme, multiple forms.

2) the supporting cast is either cute, cool, or funny. the cartoony things are especially cool. you'll know what i mean when you get to the end of the film. they're quite funny. and once they become to much and start detracting from the movie, they're taken away.

3) there are never enough philosophy movies. NEVER! don't get me wrong, i do love my comic book action movies just like the next comic book fan. but i get tired of seeing the same story over and over. now it takes an exceptional choreographer, writer/director, editor etc to make me happy. i'm happy without all of those things if the story the movie tells is different. this one certainly is.

4) the things which make a good movie can be broken down into "plot" and "emotion". this movie plays with each without making too much of an attempt to force either one of them because it would be at the expense of the story(as odd as that may seem to any of you who are or were film majors in colllege). it was nice. it's a movie you could take your 8 year old to see and then go to the museum.

There's an actual story? I thought it was a movie trying to proove other ways that things could happen/do happen than besides God's doing. Maybe I was wrong. :-?
