Almost a year ago I posted something on this subject. What Would Jesus Eat ?
Well here is some newer stuff on the subject. They are great reads. People back then did not get sick like we do today, their diet was more healthy than it is today. They even went to war over garlic, which they ate a lot of. But anyway what would Jesus eat ?

Did Jesus Eat Meat ?
http://www.lavistachurchofchrist.org/LV ... atMeat.htm

What did Jesus eat? What was He allowed to eat, considering He was Jewish?

See Leviticus 11:1-47. 8-)

Jesus ate fish and bread, including after he rose again. If it was nowadays, He would hang out at the Jewish Deli, But I don't think He would salami, considering it is pork based. :o :-D

And for that we can thank the Lord we are not in Old Testament days, we can eat all the pork we like! :)

Nothing magic happened to pigs when Jesus Christ died on the cross.

If you believe that God changed His laws based on Peters vision:

Then it is also okay to eat rats, vultures, eagles, and road kill, In fact, the entire do not eat list should now be on your menu.
The vision was to deal with Peters prejudice. God did not tell him to go out for pork chops.

In fact:
Act 10:10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

Peter would have eaten. He went into a trance and was kept from eating. Every time Peter recounts this story, he goes on to say three men came to him and brought him to Cornelius.

1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. 1 Timothy 4:1-5

Meat = food that was, is and always has been meant to be food.

Scavengers were created by God to eat garbage. Gods filtering system. Check the "do not eat" list. You will find that virtually all of them are scavengers.
Have you ever had a non- believer ask things like:
Why is the world so polluted?
Why doesn't God do something about the environment?

God did. He created scavengers. We harvest the filters and fry them up for dinner.

There is just so much wisdom in God's law.

I think they wold have to pay Him to eat of of those aweful double cheeseburgers. :o

I wonder about the processing, the chemical additives, and the genetic engineering of our food. I mean, would Jesus have avoided such things?

Just wondering. The Lord bless you all.

Jesus' meat was to do the will of the Father.

And as He said, it is not what enters the mouth that defiles, but what comes out.

Now we get hung up on what is kosher and ge & has additives, labouring to get what we think is best for us. But Jesus said, "Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."

So do you REALLY think this is so important?

So do you REALLY think this is so important?
Gen 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

It was eating something that God said "Do not eat" that got us in this mess to begin with.

YES!!! It is important!!!
You don't think it is important???? When you sit down to a plate full of bottom feeders, do you ask God to bless it and purify it? I wonder if God will bless other disobedience if we ask Him to. This is a topic that God led me to study many years ago after prayer over the health problems. Both my own and others. God led me to many different resources that described in detail the clean and unclean animals. In a nut shell, it was described the foods that sheep and cattle eat. How it is processed and filtered through several stomachs before it became meat. I also learned how with in a matter of hours that the garbage that scavengers eat become the parts that are fried up for dinner within a matter of hours.
Did you know that here in Florida, they often have to put a ban on shellfish because pollution levels are high, and eating them will cause food poisoning. :smt078

We ought not be eating shell fish, not just because they are toxic to us, but I can't help but wonder how clean the water would be if we left the oysters and clams where they are. One of the books I read spoke of an experiment where a polluted bay was stocked with clams and oysters. The bay became pristine within a matter of days!

Dear Lord,
Thank you for your grace and mercy for our disobedience. I pray that you would give us a desire to obey your word, for it is in your word that we find the wisdom that you command us to seek. I pray this for myself, and all of my brothers and sisters in Christ, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Gabby,

You seem to have it all in perspective and you also see the Big Picture when it comes down to understanding the nature and reasons for all of God's creations.

I too suffered from so-called unknown illnesses that eventually were contributed to diet.

Thanks for yor posts, I've enjoyed reading them.

Thank you Vic, that is good to know. I try to only post things that the Lord has taught me. The temptation is to post my opinion up against the opinions of others. I pray that God will give me the grace to continue to lay my opinions on His altar and exchange it for His wisdom.
After the Lord reveals things to me, it becomes fire in my bones. I want to teach it. I am always looking for people to share it with and places where I can edify the church.
I have often been disappointed when members of the church would rather cling to opinions, habits, or sin rather than seek first His kingdom and righteousness. Knowing what the Lord has done for us, it grieves me when I see His children abusing His grace.
My prayer in these last days is that God will do an awesome purifying work in His church, raise up His people and use us to bring in that final harvest. I am sooooooo homesick. I want to be found faithful.

Rev 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed [are] they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

See ya there!

We need more like that Gabby, I hope you will stick around and be the blessing that you obviously are.

Nice to have you around Gabby, just from your words I can feel the Holy Ghost in you. Now back to the subject Jesus ate healthy food, fish bread wine and I don't know if it was fermented or not. Now as for bottom feeders, I love crabs and lobster tail. And I know that I should not eat them, but about 3 times a year in the summer I pig out on crabs. And because I don't eat them a lot I will continue to do so. When I was younger before I went in the Army, I did not eat meat for 2 years, and I was feeling great. And now today when I eat fried foods I use Olive Oil, people in the Mediterranean live longer than we do because of their diet of a lot of olive products natural sugars by way of fruits and natural foods, the olive oil and products seem to be the key. And it is rich with antioxidants
