Sorry if this comes across as brash but I simply am curious. Who, why, when, and for what reason was this forum created. I know what's on the title page but what's the backstory?

I like hanging out for fellowship and comradery of fellow believers
    I'm rather a conservative non-traditional person myself.

I like just venting or cheering or goofing. Depending upon my mood.

Sounds like you will 'fit in' nicely... We are Christians of different backgrounds... from starched shirts to torn blue jeans... Pentecostal to Lutheran...
Member ship is simple. members are free to come and go... We have some rules mostly about being nice to one another... and if one is the copy and paste guy we have to have the copyright info like the "link... "

You are most welcome to join in :)

    ChristianForums.net Mission Statement:
ChristianForums.net aspires to provide a place where Christians can come together in fellowship for encouragement, inspiration, and strength to help build each other up and grow in our walk of faith through honest and open discussion, study, reflection, and prayer.

ChristianForums.net desires to serve non-Christians, seeking answers to questions about Christianity, by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ so they too may acquire the hope, joy, and peace that come from fellowship with the saving grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Well, where you might believe I might fit in....it might not be so.

I'm a construction worker...meaning I have no feelings which can be hurt. I get fired, laid off, sent home from employers on a regular basis. So someone telling me how much of a heathen I am will probably be taken as a joke.

But there's another side to that coin.
I can be really blunt, I know when guys are being jerks simply for shock and making others angry at them...to control them. (Stupid I agree but its human nature).
But if someone claims that they are sooo sensitive that everything I say offends them and for some twisted biscuit reason they get offended by my long memory or extremely conservative Biblical view.... It probably won't be long before I go.

And yes, I've been a mod on another busy and active site. But they refused to lighten up. The truth of banjo music singing silly, mocking songs and ballads in Heaven is beyond them.

Oh yeah.... I hate kittens. ROFL

TO: reba (posting above) Awww... come on. You ain't that old, but I heard once that you were older than dirt... That's what I heard anyway. But I didn't say it. I'd be too afraid to say that.

And she's right. Being a construction worker isn't nuthing compared to what a preacher kid endures. I should know, I preach left and right, but it was my great-great grandpappy on my daddy's side that was the official preacher (other than me) in my family. And that takes us back to ye ol' covered wagon days (seriously). So sometimes what? It skips a generation? No, I didn't say that either. There are other saved in my family --but I'm only a great great grand of a preacher and I'm not a preacher's kid and I ain't no spring chickun either.

My point is that we're a rag-tag mix (So was David's Army, right?) and you might just fit in especially if you form relationships and don't mind coming to the rescue of your friends or just palling around and having fun but not coming to blows over silly stuffs (that happens almost sometimes too). And if you like to go looking for trouble (like me sometimes) then that's okay too because there are DEBATE areas for that too.

In that way? Yeah. Gruff is fine. Probably. I think maybe, that is. Believe it or not, there are others who are "gruff" and/or blunt and sometimes even quick to anger? But that's not to say that I think you are that, heck, we don't even know each other now do we?

But do go and take a look at the Terms of Service before you join. Read 'em all. I have. More than once, I'll tell ya. You see, the ToS forms the rules we agree to in exchange for the Service(s) we all get here, like Server hosting and stuff and even the Mods serve us, believe it or not. They are 100% unpaid volunteers preferring to get rewards later in heaven, I'll bet.. but they don't earn $$ from their work here. Not one red cent :twocents. Every single one is a sucker that way, hahaha *wink*... and none of them come from the same church group, as far as I can tell.

But just don't listen to the lady behind the curtain. She is the Voice of the Great and Power Oz herself and boy does she have a quick-to-grab rolling pin, should she ever want to keep us in line... ya know?
It's like what Adrian Warnock wrote elsewhere (on his blog) when he wrote about 'How David Transformed a Ragtag Group into a Strong Army' way over there (online on Pathos.com) and as quoted below:

Quoting Warnock for instructional purpose and under Fair Use copyright: "It is so easy for us to moan that “if only God sent better people, I could achieve so much more!” But that kind of response fails to appreciate the role of the leader, or the kind of Kingdom God is calling us to play our part in building. The leader is supposed to equip and help people, and inspire them to become better people (see for example Ephesians 4). It is this very ragtag group that David transforms into an army of strongmen. God’s kingdom doesn’t reject the weak, but welcomes them and transforms them."

Oh yeah? I've known you too long, and know you're nothing but a pussycat with a big heart. We're a site much like the other one you're on, but five or so years ago. It's wonderful to be able to welcome you among us. I used to mod with you.

Oh yeah, bosses are quick to blame staff...when really effective leadership has no issues at all with their staff. Although working with other groups can be the real challenge.

I have a small non-profit group where I take electricians and go do jobs for churches and missionaries. Coordination between trades is always a headache.
I am currently working on some background work fory non-profit... Trying to get the horse in front of the cart so we can do more more effectively. It never ends. I simply provide skilled labor...not materials. We aren't magicians we are electricians and so your budget must be sufficient to buy materials and your pride in check when we tell you that what you want is way beyond your budget...Other than that we go anywhere. From the jungles of Brazil to the mountains of Slovakia.

I like to think of forums such as this as a ministry.
A place where I can come and have a chat with a coffee with fellow Christians. It's like a safe haven or a church from home.
I'd recommend joining and getting engrossed in some fruitful conversations.
From my experience here so far, there are some wonderful members here. :hug

Interesting statement. I'm curios about this. Can you expand a little more?

Note, I am only popping in this morning briefly and will not be able to follow-up for about a week so please realize that I may not be back online until next week.

I think as Christians an online platform is good for us to come together like we do in church.
Staff members of a forum make it safe - this keeps a forum such as this, a safe, friendly place to communicate.
Basically, I am explaining that to me, this forum is like a church.

Okay WIP; catch-up with you later. :)

    This is big question..
    '''WHO ARE YOU'''
    oh wonderful question
    1. IN PERSON
Once i was sinner,, now i am saved. not by works, by grace only Eph 2:8
now i am Child of God, John 1:12, I am believer in Jesus Rom 10:9,10. I am the part of the body of Christ..
    2. IN DOCTRINE
Once i was a blind man without understanding in doctrine,, Now i understood well.. I am only 'Evangelical'
I am not boss to the church,, i am only part of the body of Christ, which is a living souls unit..
Church is not building ,.. it is body of the living souls
    3. IN AUTHORITY
In church i am not the boss.. Even God is used me to do some big ministry by planting more evangelical churches, Even i am started this ministry, i am not boss or founder for this ministry.. I am a brother in the body of Christ. I am just brother in the body of Christ,.. there is elders ruling in our assemblies (churches)
    4. IN RESPONSIBILITY
I am only the part of the body of Christ, i am a member in the body of Christ,.., but this is not cause to me to escape from my responsibility
As a child of God (son of God) John 1:12,... i have the whole responsibility in whole works.. I am take carer for my whole ministry because i am His child
a child need to do his father's works,,. Jesus himself told this
    5. IN MIND (or heart)
OH this is good to think.. once i was fool,, now the blood of Christ cleansed and purged my conscience to leave the dead works
so my mind always thinking how to serve to God and people to add even a single soul to heaven
    6. IN LOVE
JESUS loved me and died for me.. He made me to learn on love,, He realized me to know without love i am not His child
So i decided to live with love.. with that i become as servant to many many people in every view
Now i am servant of God to serve people and God
    7. IN WORLD
GOD made me to mentor to world
This is very hard but trying and living in my possible ways with the help of Holy spirit
PLEASE TELL ME WHO I AM? MAY GOD BLESS YOU TO KNOW WHO I AM OR WHO ARE YOU?
    ...............................
Finally i am 54y old, 28y married,.. serving God since 27 years..
God blessed me to work and plant few churches in this hard country
I am shepherd to three churches, Bible teacher to our Bible college.
    Love to fellowship with Doers..
    God bless you all

You said it all! As really I have no favorites. There is never a favorite in the Bible for me. Love how you described it all.
