JESUS said that NO one has Heard or Seen the Father or HIS Shape.

Question , Moses saw the Lord God and Talked to the Lord God on the Mountain.

But who did Moses actually See ??????

Hi there. One has to note that in John 5:37, He does not say 'no one' but instead He says "Ye". As in 'All of you'. If we go back to verse 16 and read the entire passage, we can gather that He is speaking to a group of Jews. The same group that accused Him of breaking the Sabbath by healing on that Day.

John 5:16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
John 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

God the Father is referred to as being Invisible and thus Not see.

Also, Jesus was the instigator of the Old Covenant and had to die

in order for the New Covenant to be in Force. Making Jesus the God of the

Old Testament.
---------------------
MOSES Saw and Talked with the Lord God who was Jesus the Rock.

1 Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
---------------------------
Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
Luke 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
------------------------------------

Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 ¶ And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

Moses heard the voice of God speaking to him from the burniong bush.

evanman.

Yes , but it was NOT the Voice of the Father .

It was the Voice of the LORD GOD of Abraham.

and Remember what JESUS said ;

Therefore, Jesus was the LORD GOD of the Old Testament.
---------------------------------
John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw [it], and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
--------------------------------
Exodus 3:4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

3:6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

3men

Evan man,

Have I not made it clear ?

Jesus said that Abraham saw him as I AM = God.

Remember when the 3 men came to Abraham and Abraham discussed

the future destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah where Lot was.

Gen18:1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
------------------------------------------
Moses also talked with Jesus on the Mountain and saw his backside.

Remember what Jesus said to God the Father: Glorify me with the Glory

that I had before the World was.

John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
----------------------------------

Therefore, the only God that anyone saw was Jesus = the Lord God .

When Jesus spoke those words, who was He speaking to--the unbelieving Jews that sought to kill Him.

Do you not believe the words of Jesus when He said:
Joh 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Jesus was the God of the OT -- Jehovah / Jesus

Moses talked to the One who became JESUS.

Jesus saved the Israelites out of Egypt -- Jude 5

Moses was reprimanded by CHRIST -- Hebrews 11:26

i'm confused in the Bible it says that God did talk to Moses and God talks to us i have heard God's voice speak to me a lot so i think Jesus meant something else

Moses talked with Christ himself, (1 Corinthians 10:1-4).
It was Christ that wrote the 10 commandments on Mt. Sinai...giving them then, to Moses to take down to the people.

Hi there!

Exodus 24:9-10 identifies in the LXX manuscripts that they saw the place where God was, not God Himself. The word "God" is used in lieu of "Yahweh" to show that the act was divine. In verse 11 of the same text, "they also saw God" would be translated from the LXX as "they appeared in the place of God". None of the text in original manuscript actually states that they saw "God", but simply the place where God was. Furthermore, God is identified as being on a crystal blue platform and this along with "the body of heaven in his clearness" would indicate that those present may have observed the radiating glory of God, but again, not God Himself, for the detailed description is given of the place where He stood and not the appearance of God. This passage compares to Revelation 4:6 concerning the crystal sea of glass surrounding the throne of God.

The passage in Exodus 33:11 states that Moses and God talked face-to-face, but this certainly could not be absolute truth, for no one can "see" God, who is spirit, and one must know that the "face" is anthropomorphic. The passage in Exodus 33:18-23 identifies that the Lord was willing to give Moses His name and to reveal the ever-present glory of His backside, but not the true face of God. For God is spirit (John 4:24), and only the Son has seen God and lived.

The Spirit of God can be manifested in a visible form; thusly, Moses did not see God but the manifestation of God. Additionally, many references to God in "the Scriptures" identifies the Angel of the Lord, the Second Person of the Trinity, manifested in physical form with the ability to communicate with man without the present of the glory of God.

Those occurrences in "the Scriptures" where man is said to have seen God are actually episodes where man sees the pre-incarnate Son of God. That would be why they were able to view "God" and live.
