Probably because people like to be scared. At least that's why I watch that movie. And as Michael74 just mentioned, Hollywood demonic possession is a lot different than real demonic possession.

I don't like to be scared. I don't think I get scared very often. I realized years ago that...Scripture says, fear not, don't be afraid, more than it says anything else. I've taken that very seriously over time. (I never did like horror movies) but what few I have seen, didn't scare me at all. More funny than anything, lol.

So called entertainment films rarely if ever glorify God. Sometimes when watching (whatever), I kind of mentally insert God into the story in my mind, lol. That (would) ends the story many times, lol.

I remember watching the Chucky movies when I was young. We thought it was hilarious, but not scary in the least.

I have moments here and there where the fear of God will creep in...usually when I'm sinning.

Yes, much of Hollywood movies are pretend. However, it seems to give people false ideas about common things like breaking glass in real life is nothing like the sugar glass or other easily broken medium in the movies. A new mother will figure out rather quickly that pregnancy and labor is nothing like the movies. It gives a false representation of real life things, it is lies 0_0

You're making some good points there Sister. The only real safe thing we can do is to walk with Jesus constantly. When one does this, it's like Brother Chopper taught here before...that the Lord will come pitch His tent within you.

That'll keep them away by golly. :halo

A demon definitely isn't going to want The Holy Spirit as his roommate!

I like to be mildly creeped out at times and that's the small thrill I get from creepy pastas. But it makes me paranoid if I indulge too much, which is the reason I can't sleep alone in my room, I start overthinking the smallest of sounds and movement, even if I know rationally there's nothing there. So I have to take care.
I guess it's just fascinating how a made up story can play on our most basic fears, and that's fun for some reason. Just that I tend to get a little too afraid

I have been to war, seen men shot ,limbs mangled.to live with that a switch is built. To watch that would require that I do that again.no thanks.

I see it's a mixture of yays and nays in this thread. Eh,.. I guess it's all just a matter of what floats your boat. :shrug

Because of I have seen how much a man can take ,and do while shot,I also see a lot of poor writing in horror. And also choking out ,snoring, not a seisure,

Understandable.

For horror anime, one that comes to mind is Another. I haven't watched the whole thing, but it has a supernatural element which is the kind of thing I like. There's also Doki Doki Literature Club, which is a visual novel I have yet to play.

Horror films - Nien Danke! The reason is that they misalign your imagination, make evil appear powerful and goodness weak.

Proverbs 28:1

"The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion."

I watch almost no films over a 12 rating (UK). I have few 15's in my small collection, but that's all. So, when it comes to horror I tend to keep well away. I don't like what it does to my mind if I watch those kind of movies.

Trying to remember what I have seen... Friday 13th (about 2 or 3 of them), Nightmare on Elm Street... oh, it's been a long time... I can't remember the names of any more. I guess the most recent one I've seen is Word War Z, which was more of an action film than a horror (and probably why it wasn't that scary)

I'm glad I don't watch them now.

As in Philippians 4:8?

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Yes, pretty much that. Still I watch a ton of stuff that isn't great, so I'm no saint. But I guess it's always better to try and hit a goal and failing rather than having no goals at all.

Has anybody ever seen these horror movies before by the way? They are the evil twin sister of Herbie and the evil twin brother of Beethoven in my mind. :shock
