I have tried to talk to Christians about Allah and his prophets because I want to learn more about the prophet names Jesus. They have all told me terrible things and called me names. Why do I get called terrible names? Do all Christians hate Muslims? Why? We both worship Allah, you just don't understand the last prophet that Allah sent. If you do not hate me, then can you please tell me more about the prophet Jesus. I want to learn more about why some people think he is the same is Allah. The Holy Qur'an teaches us that Allah gave Jesus messages for his people. Does the Christian bible say that Jesus claimed to be Allah or is that just a lie that was made up by evil people?

Hello Niem

I don't hate anyone. And I tell you why. The Bible says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and the wages of sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. And whosoever called on the name of the Lord shall be saved. When a person repents of sin and asks Jesus into their life, believing He died to pay for their sins and that He rose from the dead, then He changes in their heart, and they shall be saved. God's love is then in them and He lives in me too. So we are to walk in love toward people. Those I know love people no matter who they are because Jesus Christ who lives inside us love people through us. I don't have all the answers but I know the Bible is God's message to us, to show us His will, which is a better life, a better way to handle life's problems and in the end being in Heaven with Him forever
The Bible says
John 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. .

I'll tell you about Jesus. He is the most awesome person you would ever meet! He gives joy and peace. He helps us with every part of our life. He is holy loving and kind and gentle, yet strong. You can talk to Him anytime about anything, like your best freind. He will not turn anyone away that wants to come to Him. He is SO amazing! :biggrin
He's compassionate and merciful and forgiving!

I wouldn't call Jesus a prophet - I call Him GOD. Core muslims know the truth about Islam and Allah: the Christian God and yours are completely different. Maybe you do not know....but it's true.

Hello Niem. Let me say first that it's a privilege to have you here.

Who Jesus was is a good question. It is THE question. Was he good teacher? or prophet? Was he God? Was he something else?

First, Jesus made some pretty bold claims about himself. Bold claims. Anyone can examine these statements and judge for themselves. In John 8, Jesus replied to the question "Who are you?" in some depth. Here's just a sampling of that:

"51 Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.†52 The Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon! Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say, ‘If anyone keeps my word, he will never taste death.’ 53 Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets died! Who do you make yourself out to be?†54 Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ 55 But you have not known him. I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and I keep his word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.†57 So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?†58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.†59 So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple." (ESV)

So, Jesus is saying "if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death." That is not to mean people will not die a "physical" death. As they replied, even Abraham died. Second, Jesus is claiming to be older than Abraham. The statement "I am" has special significance too. In Exodus 3, Moses asked what God's name was:

13 Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?†14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.†And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’†15 God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations." (ESV)

That can help in understanding what about Jesus saying "before Abraham was, I am" was so offensive that they picked up stones to stone him.

That is just one of many other quotes by Jesus about himself, and those can be examined at as a whole for a fuller understanding. What we begin to see though is that Jesus is claiming to be more than just a good teacher or prophet, for what teacher can honestly say "if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death." He also doesn't directly flat out say "My name is God" but refers to God as his father and makes some intriguing statements about himself that would be blasphemy if Jesus were lying, and I don't believe that Muslims believe that Jesus was a liar.

For your question about whether Christians hate Muslims, in 1 John 4, says something very serious and frank:

"If anyone says, “I love God,†and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen." (ESV)

If someone called you a name, Matthew 5 says

21“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ 22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

There is a way that Jesus and his disciples acted toward those that did not agree with them, and I consider that a good path to follow. We should also be mindful that if we are not merciful to others, then God will not be merciful to us (Matthew 18:21-35). All are sinners, and none of us deserves anything from God, but God beckons us even while we remain apart from Him.

And can also send you to eternity of pain and suffering, just putting this out.

I don't hate Muslims. I hate Islam. Islam is a lie. Jesus is God "in the flesh" and came to earth to die for the sins of mankind. This is the gospel, the "good news" that all men who call upon the name of Jesus Christ can be saved from their sins and brought into newness of life through Christ.

Islam denies the truth of the gospel, and therefore is anathema to Christianity. Mohammed was a false prophet who has led many from the truth of Christ.

Mohammed leads people to a false god and a false salvation. Just as Jesus said that we could know a tree by the fruit it produces, all one has to do is look at the pain and suffering that has come into the world because of Islam to know that it is not a "religion of peace."

The hope and prayer of all Christians is that Muslims will turn from their false religion and find peace in Christ.

But the promise of all peace-loving people is that if your radical Muslim brothers persist in killing those with whom they disagree, they will be found and they will be brought to justice by any means necessary.

Believe whatever you wish but do so peacefully.

I don't hate Muslims, Islam is just wrong on a number of points in my view.

Luke 13:5"I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

Romans 10:13For "Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved."

Actrs 4:11This Jesus is the Stone treated with contempt by you the builders, but it has been made the Cornerstone. 12And in no other is the great salvation to be found; for, in fact, there is no second name under Heaven that has been given among men through which we are to be saved."

Romans 10:9that if with your mouth you confess Jesus as Lord and in your heart believe that God brought Him back to life, you shall be saved 10For with the heart men believe and obtain righteousness, and with the mouth they make confession and obtain salvation.

Niem,

Jesus had many wonderful messages! :) You can read them here, which is one of the best books to read
http://m.youversion.com/bible/chapters/john

And more good messages in the other books.

http://m.youversion.com/bible/list/asv/nt

You can ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you right now! He will.

Do you know He wants to have a close personal relationship with you and with everyone in fact? He want to give you His love and wants us to love Him.
What is great is Jesus can speak messages right to you when you talk to Him. He longs for us to talk to Him and Him talk to us! When we receive Him we can do that! :)

You know guys, this person says in the Title they want to know more about JESUS so we could keep this positive and share some great things He said! :thumbsup There are going to be all kinds of things even we dont agree on, but lifting up Jesus is what we should do IMO. He said if I be lifted up I'll draw all men until me!

Jesus is a better way on all counts!

He said he came to give abundant life!

Acts 2:21And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.’c
22“Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,d put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. 25David said about him:
“‘I saw the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
26Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will live in hope,
27because you will not abandon me to the grave,
nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
28You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence.’e
29“Brothers, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. 30But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ,f that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did his body see decay. 32God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. 33Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. 34For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said,
“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
35until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.â€â€™g
36“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, boh Lord and Christ.â€

Islam exists because God ordained it be so. Muslims see Jesus as a prophet. Do they listen to Him?

Christians see Jesus as the Son of the living God. Do they listen to Him?

In both cases the answer is no.

Do all Christians hate Muslims?
I don't think so. But with the news all full of Muslims attacking and killing Christians and Jews and others in the name of Allah, hate is fueled.

Generally, we don't see your prophet as a prophet just like you don't see Jesus as a saviour.

Jesus made many claims about himself, like "I and the Father are one" and "he who has met me has met the Father". This sets him apart from prophets in that he CLAIMED TO BE GOD.

What makes it all hard is that we believe Jesus was, indeed, God in human form. Even if you can convince us that Mohammed was a prophet, he would still be just a prophet - not a savior. To my knowledge, he never even claimed to be a savior - but Jesus did.

Simply Pizzaic!!! :lol :thumbsup

Niem,

Here is an example of what the problem is:

On a day when Americans were remembering the cold-blooded murder of 3000 of our fellow citizens on 9-11 at the hands of radical Islamo-Facists, a mob of radical Muslims attacked our embassies in Cairo and in Libya, killing the ambassador Christopher Stevens, and burning our flag in Cairo. And were these monstrous and animal attacks because the US government had killed innocent citizens or tortured children? No—it was because a filmmaker made a movie about Islam that supposedly insulted Mohammed.

What is wrong in Islam? IS THIS ISLAM or is this just a radical, out-of-control bunch of crazies who are hijacking Islam?

I don't know - I can't tell what the truth is.

Jesus said, "Love your enemies". Pretty hard to do, when my enemies are killing people because they are American and/or Christian.

Everything you've seen people here say about Islam is equally true with Talmudic Judaism. Yet, some vocal Christians have very different attitudes regarding those two religions.

People are human, subject to human biases and failings. But, true religion is between you and Allah, regardless of other people. Islam teaches that Jesus is a Christ. But, Jesus is the Christ. No other prophet has called himself Christ. Only one Christ was foretold. And, Christ Jesus left us with no option but to believing him to be God in the flesh. This last point is a bit of a mystery as to how that can be, but it is.

On a day when Americans were remembering the cold-blooded murder of 3000 of our fellow citizens on 9-11 at the hands of radical Islamo-Facists,

That's nothing compared to the number of Muslims that America has killed, with the cheering of Zionist Christians.
