I have a problem with this web sight.
I log in OK, and always check to be automatically logged in.
I start to work on a post, maybe taking an hour or two, then when I go to submit it, all my work disappears bcause I have been logged off without my knowing it!

This has happened a number of times! Does anyone else have his problem??

Is what I have worked on recoverable??

I need help!

Hi Bick~

I have never checked in as automatically logged in so I deal with the same difficulty. I had no idea that it could happen when you are automatically logged in. :chin

What I do to accomodate this problem, is work most of the time from a word document and then copy and paste it, so I have it saved just in case my time has expired after signing in originally. i get what you are saying, I write and think long and slowly at times.

Maybe one of our computer whiz moderators or admins can help.

Hi Bick,

I had this problem when I lived on my college campus, but now that I'm off campus there is no problem at all. I would always check to be logged in automatically, but sometimes it would still boot me off. Apparently, it had something to do with the school's network settings...it's not the site that does it. :chin

Cookie Monster wants me to ask if you've made sure all cookies are allowed. That can do it. Oscar wonders when the last time you trashed your browser cache and temporary items. Elmo...well Elmo's just looking for someone to tickle him, and it creeps me out a little. But I'm sure that's just his way of asking if you were sure to check the "keep me logged in" box.

And as someone else mentioned, I personally have got into the habit of always, always, always copying down everything before I hit submit. You CAN open a word doc, etc, but I've discovered if you just hit Ctrl+A (to select all) and then ctrl+C (to copy) you'll be fine. If you get logged out, you just log back in, hit the reply button and ctrl+v (to paste) and you're all set.

:biglol

Yes, check cookie settings. Delete temp internet files and cookies, log out, then back in.

... and always compose posts that take some thought in a text editor or word processor. :crying

It happens to me too. It has something to do with the script of some forums. My "home forum" where I started posting many years ago, is now impossible for me to log on to. It just keeps on kicking my IP off. I am on a wireless system and some say its the service provider and that I have a "roaming IP" (whatever that means)
This site does it and its been getting worse, but I can still log in and stay without having to repeat log in for every post. Pray it stays like this and do not get worse.
