It's gotta be Bush and his war in Iraq!

At least Bush was still President when I hit the "Submit" button. I wonder who will be president when it goes through?

No, you are both wrong..... its Al Gore's fault he is the one that invented the internet....

Actually, its a glitch in the matrix and time slows down for about 20-30 seconds while messages are posting. Keep an eye out for Agent Smith.

You know what, I think we're missing the most obvious person to blame. I blame Bob. why didn't we think of this before now...

I blame our spell checker.

I was thinking the same thing. Actually it seems like it might be a plug in that checks for bad language, like a filter or something. Has such a program been added to the board... anybody know?

did u guys install some silly security measure to prevent flooding, and set the time up WAY too high?

Flood control has always been a part of PHPBB, so I doubt it's an issue. Notice that when you send a PM or a post that contains Board smileys only, it goes through quicky.

hmm, on osme phpbb forums i run, you can change the flood control time limit, and get specific addons that will allow posts in diffrent categories, but not repeat posts, idunno, weird stuff.

Maybe it is a spell check.

Yup, the flood control time is adjustable, but changing it usually only changes the duration you can post again.

Funny, you are the second person I heard say it may be the SpellCheck. It's possible, but I don't see the connection between submitting a post and a Spellcheck in relation to adding a post to a field within a database. It could be the database itself or the server it's on. Hmm, just don't know and can't put my finger on it for Logan.

well set up a test to see if it is the spell check.

make a HUMONGOUS post with tons of words mispelled.

then make a post with 1 word.

mkae a post with smilies

see which ones take longer.

see if it is posts with quotes.

I use SpellCheck on two sites I built. It's the Spelling Cow version, not the PHP Spell that's used here. Neither site has the "slow post' problem.

As for the rest, I have already tried just about every senario. Whether it's two letters or 1,000 words, it should post up in about 1-2 seconds. Goto my church's youth group Forums and try posting something here... http://www.cbcyouth.com/viewforum.php?f=1 It's a test Forum and you don't have to be registered to post in that forum. You do need to login to SpellCheck if you use it. Login is user=user, passcode=user. :-D
