Why does the "edit post" feature dis-appear on some of my posts and not others?

I have a typo in one of my posts that I wanted to edit (Should be 2 Tim 2, not 2 Tim 4 as I posted.

In trying to edit this, I noticed that I can edit some of my posts in this thread (so I'm definitely logged on and all). But that particular post and some others on this thread, I do not have the Edit Post hyperlink. That's odd. I wonder if it has to do with someone quoting it??? Which is the case here. Are all posts "locked" from editing once it's quoted?

Additionally, I’ve noticed that the post #'s on taptalk do not equate to the post#s if you are using the actual webpage. It probably has to do with deleted posts or something cause it's not always the case that they do not match-up. Sometimes they are the same. That's odd too,. But this problem is probably a feature of Taptalk2, that you all have no control over. You can see what I mean by this using that particular thread using both taptalk2 and the webpage.

Members have a time frame in which to edit their posts.... When something needs be edited and 'your' time has run out ask a mod....We are here to help. The guys have way more knowledge ....

    Second question I don't have a clue....

ADDED: fixed the Scripture reference :)

Mike and StoveBolts will be able to confirm this, but I think post edit time is 2 days, and thread title edit time is 1 day.

Not sure about your second question.

In reply to the tapatalk error it could just be the version or the deleted posts which you've mentioned however as far as I'm aware display features through tapatalk are not fixable by the forum staff. It seems like something tapatalk needs to be aware of so they can fix it.

Nick was correct with the time limit on editing posts. It's set at 48 hours. BTW, the time limit for editing thread titles is 12 hours. It sounds like this is more of a Tapatalk problem than a site problem for you, Chessman. You could get off Tapatalk and go to the site to edit posts Tapatalk won't let you. Let us know if you still have problems.
