I do not agree with you concerning the Sabbath. While I am convinced that we must obey Scripture, and that our hearts should desire to because we love Him, I do not believe that Scripture teaches that the Sabbath must be observed. The 7th Days are not rightly dividing the Word in this matter, and to make matters worse they over emphasize the day. We are told, as believers, not to do this. The reason is because it was only a shadow of Christ. See the whole chapter of Colossians 2
Colossians 2:16-19
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
First of all, the law was changed when the priesthood changed. That is why we no longer sacrifice animals. Christ is now our priest, our sacrifice, and He is our rest. Hebrews 7
Hebrews 7:19
19For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
Belief in Him is our rest, for He is our rest.

We are told not to judge others concerning whether they esteem one day above another or not...because this part of the law was changed and now has become figurative of the spiritual life of the believer...because we have Christ. Mind you, I am not saying the whole of the law has changed, but only those parts where Scripture teaches it. This is taking God’s Word as a whole, and rightly dividing the Word of truth. Both the Old Testament, and the New Testament are true, and do not contradict each other. We should be very careful that we judge righteously, we are not to judge in regards to a day. Romans 14

4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Scripture shows in several places that early believers gathered on the first day of the week. I have heard two theories about this. The first being that this is when Christ was resurrected and it is in honor of that, and the second being that it was to allow for the Jewish believers to observe the Sabbath because of their law, while still being able to gather on the first day of the week with believers. Both make practical sense I guess, but I think it is because, as these Scriptures teach us, Christ was our rest, the former holy days were no longer needed, and the days that were meant as a promise of Him are now shadows...because we have Him. Praise God!

A person who has the laws on their heart..obviously has been sealed by the HOly Spirit of promise and as sheep will follow the good shepherd. Those who don't, I believe, are fale professors and are not his sheep...therefore they are led up the garden path because they are trying to go to heaven their own way.

In the end, people are not truly led away because of Satan himself, but because of of their own selfish desires. This is explained in James Chapter One. Early Christian converts did not have a handy testament on them to read from all the time. Job might not have had anything to read apart from maybe the law.

And that is my whole point.....without following what is written in the Bible absolutely, and totally, one cannot know God's Law, which the Holy Spirit impresses, upon each individual.Merry Menagerie said:

Satan comes to the Christians world, as an angel of light, pretending he is....the Holy Spirit, (2 Corinthians 11:14,15), selling his own brand of 'righteousness' to those who are ignorant of what the Bible really says.
One major tipoff as to the work of satan is, suggestions against the Law of God.... "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make [war] with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ" (Revelation 12:17).

No you don't have the point at all.
So relying on the Spirit of Christ for our righteousness is dangerous?
I think you're talking about supernatural things there. Testing the spirits...the spiritual gifts etc, some are counterfeit, we are to test them.
Yes and tries to make people slaves to the law all over again - sad really!
Note the part in that vers about 'Jesus Christ' ok...very important part in this whole conversation!

lovely, neither Colossians nor Romans 14 is saying what you want it to say. Such a cursory review and explanation of Paul's writings is why there is so much confusion and misinformation about the law and the Sabbath.
