I do hope you will fix the problem soon.

It was slow before this weekend but now it's at a crawl.

I can't stay on here and do anything like this.

    I'll keep checking back.

    Just a thought but ...

For me, it was "crawl speed" when I first logged on. Then, as I began to do my normal site navigation, things started going faster.

I'm not experiencing any speed problems, either before the weekend nor now.

Is this the only site that you're experiencing slow speeds?

    For me, yes.
And it's much faster now. I did do a
    RUN ----> ipconfig /flushdns

So my thought is that my box is rebuilding its dns cache and that's the likely cause for the slowness when I got on initially.
Speed ratings (by my gut feel, not tested)
    Before Server Down: 8
    At FirstLogon After: 3
    Now: 8

I dunno, it could be faster?

okay, I did the flush too.
Maybe I need to keep going around on here and see if it picks up speed.
But yes, it's always been slow compared to other sites I visit.

No problems with Chrome, over here, other than the usual, but that is pretty much attributed to the network I am on.

I use FireFox, but I have no problems elsewhere.
    It's back to usual now.

Could be you need a good defrag.. no that's not right if its only happening here.. you might want to check it though. I don't know my problem is different, when I'm not logged in the site icons are distorted.. Have you made any recent changes to an extension, added software, maybe loose pieces of leftover software laying around. I use this utility every once in a while to clean things up..

Having the same problems on mine now. (Firefox) But it seems like it will speed up for a little while then slow way down again. Doesn't seem related to anything I'm doing at the time that I can figure out. Then sometimes when I try to navigate somewhere, like to "New Posts" I get the following window:

    *****************************************************************

[IMG] Database error The database has encountered a problem. Please try the following:
    • Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
    • Open the www.christianforums.net home page, then try to open another page.
    • Click the Back button to try another link.
The www.christianforums.net forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists.
    We apologise for any inconvenience.

    *****************************************************************

Once this window comes up it seems to lock me out of the site until it feels like letting me back in again.

Cleared my cache, cleared my cookies and browser history, did the flushdns thing and checked my drive to see if it needed defragging, it didn't. Nothing helps and I've checked all the other forums I frequent and am not having any problems anywhere else, nor did I have them here until after this last weekend's changes. Whatever changed on CF.net seems to be causing this.

I kept getting that Database error as viewed in Obadiah's post #11 today when I tried (for several hours, off and on) to sign online here today.

Is this merely a glitch in the vast realm of internet space?

I find if I just keep trying to login, it eventually goes through.

    Blessings.

    It's Saturday.
This website is going slow, slow, slow.
    It's at a snails pace.
    I hope it picks up.

    Clear cookies and cache.

    Run the ipconfig /flushdns command.

Mine was also running very slow, but it seems to be much faster now. I cleared my cookies about three days ago!

While being something that is probably good for routine maintenance, none of that helped the problems one bit. Whatever was wrong with the site seems to be fixed this morning, at least it's running great for me right now. Thanks to all who worked on it! :)
