Ok so I was thinkin'...How much the Lord really loves us is just being pounded into mankind recently, right? It seems to me. He's not an angry God at all at heart. His love knows no bounds. He is Love. His love covers a multitude of sins. We get saved, and continue to sin. We repent and ask forgiveness and He continues to forgive us. And we live and learn. We learn to cling to the Lord. He continues to love us and to demonstrate it in our everyday lives. We have trials. We have tests. He doesn't put bad things upon us, He just uses the enemy's attacks to teach us things thereby turning bad things into good in the long run. (If we obey.) That in itself is demonstrating a whole lot of love in my mind. He promised that whatever suffering and tribulation that we endure on earth...what He has in store for us later, will be so good, that no one will be able to feel like they were slighted on earth in any way. He even waits on people to get old and about to die, and them, seeing their mortality many times turn to Him, turn to God. On their deathbed even. He still loves them so much, that He accepts them at that time. Sinful, fruitless life that they had. They will be saved. That is a lot of love.
That said...Scripture says, All has been given unto our Lord, Jesus and that He will lose none of what has been given to Him, for this is the Fathers will. (John 6:39, 10:28, 18:19...) and this got me to thinking. With a God like that, how can it be that anyone go to hell? I seriously doubt that all of mankind except for...(any) were given to Him, while others were not given to Him. Otherwise, wouldn't He be losing some? And that can not be. I am not saying that hell is not real and souls will not go there, but rather...maybe they can get out of hell some day, to be with the Lord also? Scripture speaks of a purifying fire, even for the children of God, so mayyybe...they get purified over time in hell (hotter fire than for the saved? Or something?)
He can't lose any. I am well aware of the terms in scripture like eternal hellfire and so forth like that...but I guess, if, it could be true what I ponder, then that could only mean that all of mankind does not fully understand what eternal means? I haven't did a word study on eternal, but I've always thought that it meant forever. But scripture also says, that it will all pass away and nevermore will there be any sin, evil or iniquity, right? So that sort of clouds the forever meaning of hell, wouldn't it?
So even if they first went to hell and were angry and rebellious towards God...eventually, the torment of hell fire would almost have to turn ones heart to being repentant? (enough is enough, I'm sorry I ever did those things...Lord God, please please save me...?)
and then He would not lose even one...
Told you it was a wild idea! I don't know of course, but still...
Any huge holes in this speculation that I'm missing? (don't answer too fast).
