Will people always hate Bush? Should we pray for him and then cut him down afterwards?

Ummm...you have already beaten these George Bush threads to death on these forums. How about moving on to something else?

To death? Hardly. But yes sir. :)

there are some that will blame Bush for anything and everything, and will hate him always. Although I didn't like him much as a president, I still respect him as a person and don't hate him. I try not to hate anybody, as Jesus commanded us to love our enemies.

I am uncertain why we would "respect" someone directly responsible for destroying the lives of tens and likely hundreds of thousands of primarily innocent human beings.....

.... either through direct dishonesty (I don't think that is an issue) or such groteseque and will ignorance and incompetence that he should have been locked up.

I suppose we could somehow respect Adolph Hitler, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, Josef Stalin - all these men had great justification and legitimization for their evil.... believing they were ridding the world of vermin..... to make it a better place for genuine human beings like them....

Sound familiar??

Put down the reefer Anth......

You do not know the heart of George Bush. Why don't you listen to the people around him instead of what the liberal media feeds you all the time.

Listen to Tim Goeglein :

Tim Goeglein is Vice President of External Relations for Focus on the Family Action. Formerly, he served as a special assistant to President George W. Bush and as a deputy director of the White House Office of Public Liaison. In addition, Goeglein served as a communications director for Gary Bauer at the Campaign for Working Families, and also for U.S. Senator Dan Coats of Indiana. Goeglein and his wife, Jenny, reside in the Washinton, D.C. metropolitan area and have two sons.

Listen to all three parts, it's great stuff. :)

I have had a chance to listen to all that i'm not fan of Bush, he did make mistakes. But would you anth wanted President Carter to have been president at the time of 9-11, or Al Gore. To be honest I don't think we should went in to Iraq. But i'm not the Prez now or wasn't then.

When i was in afghanistan i seen the BOLO(be on the lookout ) list for all terror suspects in afganistan, it was linked from my little hole in the wall area to bin laden himself. Yes there was some missing peices, but you get the idea. I think Bush seen that and took in bad intel ,or rather inaccurate and decided to invade.

Anth, since your are soo anti-war and blame bush for the casualites. What a bout nam, korea, or wwII, nam is the blight of democratic party and they tend to want to forget that, so when i hear the left say what you just did, i politely remind them of LBJ, and their precious Kennedy who btw escalated their involvment. Was nam a mistake yes, did we know that then before we went in,no. Looking back i could see why we would want to do that. Korea and other countries going to the commies.

Every war has collateral damage, wwII had plenty. The allies killed more civilians in dresden, and tokyo then the a-bombs did. FDR, got us involved in the war and Truman finished it. War is hell no doubt, is every war necessary no. Do president make mistakes yes, btw not just bush approved the iraq war, congress along with DEMOCRATS in power did.

I don't hate Bush, I think only time will tell all the damage he caused and good he did. Yes, imho he did some good.

Gentlemen,

As I explained - I am an ultra - conservative - there are a LOT of ultra-conservative who recognize Bush, Dobson for what they are - whiney, anti-Christ facists (hence, Focus has less than zero credibility - they are part of the problem - not the solution!). I provide you with just one link of something approaching genuine conservatism (and, staunchly anti-Bush, etc.):

http://www.lewrockwell.com/

I have no allegiance with the Democratic Party - they are guilty up to their hairline as a whole - I can cite you example after example.... They are primarily responsible for the massive, anti-Christ, institutional profiteering phoney "war on drugs", etc.

Hope this clears up your misconceptions about where I am coming from. I do know it is a fundamental psychosis for the religious right to accuse their critics as liberals - they have been taught to salivate at the mere word - and love to use it "liberally". Sorry that is just another Evangelical lie. The disciples of Christ sort through this sort of nonsense to judge, as we are called to, "righteous judgement".

Best,
In Him

So u believe in the legalization of all drugs, prostitution, and gay rights.
All of which aren't biblical, but then again you pick choose which part to believe, if jesus was "pro drugs, then why the condemnation of those who use sorcery( greek pharmacia). I know that no law will redeem, but the government job is to contain evil. I don't accuse you of being liberal, but in your own words you don't attend church, and I only have called you out your views on drugs(mainly) and beside this threads on other on your views on ecomony. The apostle paul was called by jesus to say what he did, along with John the disciple. See acts and revelations. I don't follow all the "religious right" warnings until i verify them, i mainly listen chuck colson of breakpoint/prison fellowship ministries. People are going to sin no matter what, to take your anti-drug war logic to an extreme why have any law enforcement? The drug and other issues is the sign of the end times.

Jason,

I appreciate your perspectives - if you were genuinely open to a Biblically based, genuinely conservative discussion on these matters, I would be glad to do so. You can start with ICor5:12,13 and move to Phil3:20.

BTW - you are abusing the word pharmakeia by associating it with how psychoactives and stimulants - such as the caffeine that most people on this board use. I will let you do your own study to figure that out.

BTW2 - Colson is a criminal who is also part of the problem - he is another fear mongering partisan.

Best,
Anth

I don't I voted for him twice, being black it was not popular, but I did not care. I turned Democrat again for Barack, after being Republican since 1982. But I am still a conservative. Ijust think that Barack, can do a better job on many things.

anth, a friend who is studying to be pharamacist actually verifyied the definition of the word i gave you, in ancient greece, the sorcerers used drugs to help them along with their divination. Since u like pot, i tell you the effects i've seen it to do my wife and others, 1) her youngest daughter feels that pot is bad because her mom(my wife was married to another man and divorced him yrs before i met her) used it soo much and made poor decisions, she had to raise her, i couldgo on and on. My wife now's on oxygen for headaches and sudden loss of vision in eyes. It maybe her lungs doing that(she has just learned the cause of headaches). It could be early emphysema.

2) my uncle admitted to me between smoking pot and regular cigarettes that he now has copd.

Pot has recently been linked to testicular cancer, along with lung cancer. even if it was legal that wouldn't change anything you smoke and inhale could cause that. On a related note many vets returning from Iraq/afghanistan are having problems with cronic cough, and other relate issues. It's because they were near the burn pits of trash.

Do you think god if he made pot to be used reacreationally like you do would condemn the user(if he or she doesn't repent). Pot does have medical use. like i stated before. look up marinol. One can drink in the bible, only don't get drunk.

anth, would u want a doc to hit the bong heavily before cutting u open, or get in flight with pilot cabin filled with a fog of pot? Unlike smoking ,pot has documented effects on judgement. I'm certain don't like alcohol either, but the prohibition of it was worse than allowing it. That was lesson learned on us(christians ) trying fix a problem with our own power. However legalization of all drugs isn't the answer either, evil must be contained.

The verse u quote pertain to the handling of matters of christians taking each other to court(1 cor 5:12.13 are also linked to 1 cor 6:1-4) The verse of phil 3:20 is related to the issue of worship and these things are true. I cor 5:12,13 are also concerning the seperation of believers of unbelievers, and I agree that no vote will change them, however wouldn't u witness or warn the lost of their condition or do u sit by "who am i to judge"

Funny u compare Bush to Hitler and the like then tell us who stand up for Christ and seek to contain evil, and speak against sin are wrong. Is that not the same thing? I've always maintaned that the laws wont redeem, it's a given. But when the government calls good evil and evil good and legalizes pot, same sex marriage, polyamory, drugs. should i be quiet? When the government legalized murder(abortion) should we christains be quiet. What if the government allowed sharia law( woman were now to have no rights) would u suggest we christians to be quiet.

Finally did, in your opinion, was John the baptist wrong calling Herod out on his taking of his brothers wife, adultery. After all it was two consenting adults, and in case you didn't know Herod was the ruler of the Jews put in power by the Romans.

I will no longer discuss with you on these matters. :nono back to topic :thumb

Do you still think so based on what he's done so far?

Barack is doing the best he can with the mes he inherited from Bush.

And Bush did the best job he could with the mess he inherited from Clinton. :tongue

Come on people, why all the hate? Would Jesus rather have us talk bad about people or would He rather have us pray for people? I wouldn't be surprised if 20 years from now, people are still bashing Bush. I am sure some would say it was Bush's fault that the Titanic sank or if someone gets a flat tire. Grow up kids and leave the past where it is. If you don't like someone, PRAY for them! :)
