  • Matthew 7:13-14
    Matthew 22:14
What do you think now? Do you believe what Jesus said?

:) :)

I am deeply and utterly convinced of the truth of the Gospel of Christ. I do not believe that all will be saved, yet neither do I believe for one moment that the "few" who find the way to life are the same few who enter heaven. Matthew 7 and Matthew 22 are discipleship scriptures: Many are called, few are chosen does not mean of those called, few will be saved.

If one was to take Matthew 7:13-14 as a description of who enters heaven, one could conclude that only those who do the work of "entering by the narrow gate" are those who are saved. That would be Pelagianistic theology.

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Jesus is not talking about temporal life He is speaking of eternal life.

Few find eternal life. Jesus is the way.

Of the people who claim to believe in Christ many of those don't even know Him and really don't want to know Him.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The gospel is the power of God and most do not know it. In this nation where we have bibles for sale at the grocery store and in almost every secular book store most people don't know and are not interested in the gospel.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Believe and live or don't believe and perish.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Many are called few are chosen. This is hard for us to see in our earthly bodies what truly lies in a persons heart. What we see on the outside sometimes isn't what is in the heart. Only GOD can see into our hearts. When the day comes we will be shocked at who made it and who didn't.

I think most of the people will be in purgatory.

 just kidding
