So even though a lot of people don't seem to 5keep that Commandment anymore today, was Jesus basically saying that since He was, is, and will forever be the Son of God that He's exempt from it? John 5:15-18

No,
Not what He said or intended.
Jesus said that He was "Lord of The Sabbath "...meaning that He was in charge of it.

The Sabbath commandment in the Ten Commandments is a unique one. Sabbath is written as a singular event. Not a single representing a collection. IOW it did not say "Keep every Sabbath Day holy and do no work" .

So that should be the first clue that a flat reading of this commandment is what should not happen.

Basically without going through a lot of scripture and lessons on Hebrew poetic license with metaphors...this is the one commandment about the ending of the Old Covenant and the institution of the New Covenant and Jesus' death all wrapped up in one. Showing faith in this was expressed by doing no work on Saturday...today we show we believe by going to church on Sunday.

But at that time before Jesus' death all of the Levite Priests had to work on every Sabbath. Jesus of course did His thing on every Sabbath as well.

Well I don't go to church every Sunday but I read the Bible every day even though it's only little bits at a time. In that sense does that mean that I keep the Sabbath then? (Although I guess that it doesn't really matter that much since I don't even work at all lol :lol)
