today i bought a book about writing novels and a journal to brainstorm/write in.
I'm going to create bits and and poems and gather it all into a novel.
I'm excited! I am pretty good at writing!

One friend of mine just finished his first book and it's selling so well that the publisher has given him an advance to work on his second. Another friend has been interviewing me as it seems my youth ministry years ago will play a role in his semi-fictional book that he is working on now. I wish you the same success that these other friends are enjoying!

If you enjoy writing I'm sure you can do it! There's a "Poet's Market" and "Writer's Market" published every year. They list all the publishers and general idea what and how to submit to them. Self-publishing is huge too. It requires self-promotion which I don't think is a bad thing, it's just the way things are going. Self-publishing, even with few sales, actually makes you more appealing to publishers. Getting anything published is encouraging though. My wife had a few articles and short stories published, now she does blogging to make money.

thats awesome ,Ive written stories and poems since I was 6 yrs old ,for me its not about getting published or anything i immensely enjoy the kinds of relationships and characters that come from a world of my own.My latest one Ive been writing on for about 2 years is called "when I met joe" The main characters are really God and I.It was inspired by these last few years of trauma and abandonment and rejection just to bring me to this place where i am adopted by God and he loves me for me and he is all I have but all I want.

I fancied myself a writer, years ago. More (not very good) image than substance. Then, weirdly enough (maybe "strangely enough" is a better phrase), my writing style improved..after repentance. This, despite all sorts of potentially crippling psychiatric treatment. God is good!

Anyway, I remember reading about and almost participating in NaNoWriMo--National Novel Writing Month, something like that. There might be groups in your area, there are definitely groups online. I'm looking into it this year myself, too.

I think I could call myself a writer. I am very interested in writing movie scripts and I've wrote a few of mine, haven't finished them though but I've got a lot of them!

I write. I've got several poems, some short stories, two novels, and working on a third. I've even actually sold a couple of things...However, I'm a very long way from ever being a successful writer.
I'm still a "starving artist"....:blush
