Hello CFnet staff members,

I just tried accessing the forums using Tapatalk but it didn't work. Is this function going to come still or what's going to happen? Great job on the quick change from vBulletin to XenForo! Looks much better, still got to get used to a lot of stuff in it though. Hope there will be an option to edit posts of myself as well :)

God bless,
Josh.

In regards to editing posts, lots of permissions are still being worked out.

At the moment we just have basic functionality as we had to make this change much quicker than we would have liked, but were forced to due to a corrupt database. So in the coming days and weeks, more functionality and more features will be rolled out, as will an improved theme.

I assume the plan is to get Tapatalk functionality back, but that might be down the list of priorities considering the mobile theme we now have is excellent; much better than tapatalk, imo.

Ah okay, yeah I've checked it out and it looks pretty good, but I just like having it in an app ;)

Actually, we've decided to go without Tapatalk for now. The mobile view is so much better here on XF, we don't think it's necessary. We want to be responsive to our members, though, so we'll be monitoring the demand for it.

As Nick said, we're focusing on top priorities that enhance all members' experience here on the site. There's a lot of work we still need to do. I know you were hot on getting Tapatalk installed on your phone, so I'm sorry for you that it won't be of use here for the foreseeable future.

Ohh.. :/ I know the mobile view is really nice but it's just nice to get notifications of stuff on my phone in Tapatalk and all that instead of having to use the browser app which is so much slower than Tapatalk.. Oh well guess this is a win-lose situation then.

Anyways good job on the forums.

Without making a definitive commitment, Skillet, I'm certain that your Staff will take the request into consideration. I've thought about buying Tap-a-Talk myself and the notification feature you mention is a plus.

Are there not already too many dichotomies where every one of them is either Black or White and the ones that aren't? Well, they are Go or No-Go and the ones that aren't? They are Either This or That and for those few that aren't? They are either Is You In -or- Is You ain't.

Me? I'm neither here nor thar, preferring to be the one who strives to walk in-between the drops in order to stay dry even while it is raining. In this "Show me the YouTube of it or it didn't happen world," we sometimes create a fudge factor, not for the purpose of deception, no. Not to increase confustability or consteration either. Rather it is for the fun and the joy of pondering the
quizzical smiles that appear almost randomly on the faces of those who read with magnifying glasses.

Ah okay. It's a great app, and it's so much faster than my web browser app.

For Google Chrome <---- click link
For Firefox browser <---- click link

For WebMasters <---- they don't need me to tell 'em what to do.

For those who have Microsoft Word installed? And if they know how to use scripts here's one I just found:

The following from PCMagazine Editors:
Save the following as c:\temp\spellcheck.js:

oShell= new
ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell");
oShell.SendKeys( "^c" ); // copy
oWord= new ActiveXObject("Word.Application");
oWord.Visible= true;
oWord.Documents.Add();
oWord.Selection.Paste();
oWord.ActiveDocument.CheckSpelling();
oWord.Selection.WholeStory();
oWord.Selection.Copy();
oWord.ActiveDocument.Close(0);
oWord.Quit();
var nRet= oShell.Popup(
"Apply changes?\nClick OK to replace all selected text.",
0,
"Spell Check Complete",
33 );
if ( nRet == 1 ) {
oShell.SendKeys( "^v" ); // paste
}
Drag the file from Windows Explorer to the Links bar in IE to create a shortcut to the script. Right-click the shortcut, choose Rename, and name it Spell Check. Now when you're entering text in any Web page, you can highlight the text and click the Spell Check button. Word comes up and does a normal, interactive spell check, closing when finished.
