Hi CrazedCatholic from an ex-Catholic. It's great to have you and I do hope you enjoy your time among us, though with your stated intent I would just like to make you aware of our rules. May God bless you here in Jesus' name.

Part of ToS Rule 2.2 - Discussion of Catholic doctrine will be allowed in the One on One Debate Forum and End Times forum only. RCC content in the End Times forum should relate to End Times beliefs. Do not start new topics elsewhere or sway existing threads toward a discussion or debate that is Catholic in nature.

On our Apologetics & Theology - 1 on 1 debate forum there are further rules:

Just to clarify....

1 on 1 debates must be arranged via PM's before the thread is started.
To clarify even further, this is how they should be arranged:

• Two members should agree that they will engage in a debate.
• The scope of their debate needs to be agreed upon between the two of them.
• One of the two members should PM an admin, explaining the first two points. We suggest including the other member in the PM.
Do not start a thread in the 1-on-1 Debate Forum by issuing an open challenge to whomever is willing to accept it.

The reason we have these measures in place is to ensure that at least one of the members is a Christian rooted in scripture. We can't have two members in an uninterrupted discussion if they both generally hold to a doctrine at odds with the core tenets of our faith. For example: both are agnostics/atheists, both reject the Divinity of Christ.

Socialize, not Socialist! Stupid auto-correct....lol.

Greetings Crazed! :wave

It is a pleasure to welcome you here and to see your application to the Christianity and Science forum as well.
I'll get right on it and hope to welcome you to the C&S forum very soon.

Cordially,
Sparrowhawke

Thank you for allowing me to join. I hope to do some serious debating

:wall I sometimes enjoy a good debate or two myself. I'll not ask what side you favor, but will look forward to hearing the expression of your views there.

It's been quiet recently (for the last week only) but may become "lively" at any moment. Welcome again!

why don't you go to a catholic forum then...??
I cannot accept roman Catholicism as being Christian...

Wow, that's a bit direct. I'm ex-Catholic and wonder what you've been taught the criteria of being a Christian is? In addition to much of their dogma I do not agree with, most Catholics believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 18:4 thought by many to describe the Catholic Church at the end of this present age tells those left in it at that time; "Come out of her, my people . ."

Blessings in Christ Jesus.

Glad to have a fellow Catholic on here with me. I was confused by the above post stating they thought we were not Christians. Since when ?

Since when?

Greetings Txmom2, :wave

I'd have to check the actual dates for what is called the "Protestant Reformation" but my guess would be since some time in the 16th century there marked a time when some started saying that RCC members were not Christian. They invented lots of reason but failed to consider that God knows who His children are and that Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice."

There is no "universal" rule about such things, as you know.

Nice to meet you. I'll look forward to hearing more of what you have to say.

Cordially,
Sparrowhawke

Okay . Thanks for clarifying.I believe in Christ and believe he is the son of God. I was taught that is what a Christian is. Along with following his teachings and trying to live the way Christ did. [ helping others, caring for those who have less, giving of yourself, etc.]

Yep. Same thing that I was taught and I've attended many, many different 'flavors' including RCC. Never had a problem worshiping God with my brothers and sisters no matter if it was pistachio or hazelNUT or even 'champagne sherbet'. It's like my poppa used to say, "I don't worry about you too much; a nut does not fall far from the tree." He was probably quoting the ol' adage, "An apple does not fall far from the tree," and modified it for me specifically.

Would that mean I am special? You bet! So are you. Welcome to our forum. :wave
