So my mother, niece, and I were on our way to the crepes restaurant this morning for breakfast and this is what we saw on the side of the road where the bike path is.

We went to go get a closer look of it and another car stopped behind it. One man got out of the car and helped nudge it a crossed the street and all of us made sure that none of the other cars ran over it. We think that it was either headed to the nearby pond or the turtle club. :lol (AKA this place)

That's pretty cool! They are crossing the roads up here too. I saw one yesterday crossing.
Funny story, years ago our dog was jumping around one barking and just annoying the poor turtle until the turtle hissed and I swear it jumped 3 feet at the dog several times till the dog figured out it wasnt playing around.

That's funny I didn't know that turtles could hiss LOL! :lol Apparently they must have some feline blood in them.

that is a snapping turtle they bite

snapping turtles will and do bite

Yeah, we were already pretty sure it was a snapping turtle, but we didn't get too close to it. It's still pretty neat though. Are snapping turtles the only turtles with teeth? Just wondering.

Once at Radnor lake...
My wife and I got caught up in a Turtle Stampede...we had to walk quickly and everything. I almost feared for our safety.

I'm sorry that it's taken me so long to get back to you but I was very busy today. Anyway, it appears as the turtle that I saw was a common snapping turtle. If only I had seen this video beforehand lol :lol

not sure as i know first hand of anyone experiencing it .. but a old saying if a snapper bites.he dont let go till it thunders ... this time of year could be a long wait... :eek2

Apparently another thing about snapping turtles is that they can climb fences which I wonder how this little guy managed to get up there in the first place with that weighted shell on his (or her) back. Don't worry the description underneath the video on Youtube says that the turtle was alright. Lol at the end of the video by the way! :lol (you have to listen very carefully for it)

Where are you from again? Florida?

We have really tamed my state, what goes on in Australia in general went in my state as well.the spanish name on charts was the tortouise, tortuas, the loggerhead was so common that had boroughs on the area I know as the sand Ridge.
