Feedback Your Autocratic Approach

It seems to me you people have really driven this website into the ground with your autocratic approach. You ought to let people say what they have to say. What makes you think you are better than we are?

I'm pretty sure no one is locking your keyboard. Are you saying no one should disagree with what you choose to type?

The rules are in place for reasons but rest assured none of the reasons are to censor what is written. We not only allow non-Christians including those from what one could refer to as "hostile religions" to post here but we encourage it so long as they are here to ask questions and obtain clarity about who we are as Christians and not here to peddle their heresies and promote discourse against our Christian beliefs.

You announce you are leaving, then months later you return only to spout criticism? What brings this on? Did something happen?

"Autocratic"? Simply because there are rules that everyone here agreed to follow? You will find there are rules most places you go and those that have none are ruled by chaos. God doesn't honor chaos.

Well, this is a forum for questions and suggestions to staff, so I'm not sure he posted in the wrong forum.

But it seems your only question is actually an accusation disguised as a question, and your only suggestion seems to be that everyone is left alone to do as they please. I don't think that's going to happen, and I doubt you would want it to either if you were the one being attacked by the other person or if it was you're child or new convert that was being told God wasn't real, and there were no restrictions on that kind of thing. We have had a number of people come from other Christian forums that have told us they appreciated our rules and their enforcement here after the way they were treated in the other forums.

Yeah, I don't know. I'm still kind of new at this, so I'm waiting to see how more of the veteran staff react... If he were referring to a specific incident and disputing staff's actions, that would be a violation worthy of removing the offensive post. But I don't know if he's disputing something in particular or simply making a critical observation.

The Statement of Faith, as well as the Terms of Service, have been in existence for years. There have been a few updates to the ToS over time in order to keep this site flowing smoothly.

Those who come to CFnet have a choice: whether or not to abide by both the Statement of Faith and our Terms of Service. Should the decision be made to not abide by our SoF or ToS, they don't join. If they join but don't agree with any alterations to our SoF or ToS, they are free to leave.

What would be considered 'autocratic' would be any member who decides not to abide by the established SoF and/or ToS, and insist that everything change to suit that person.

This is true. This is best run Christian forum site I've ever been on. It may appear to be strict but it's actually not. All the rules are asking you to do is act responsibly and carry on in a polite Christian manner. I don't believe that's too much to ask.
