Yes, if I am presented with evidence that gives me overwhelming certainty that I am wrong, I will change my opinion.

Sometimes you may just have it right, holding on to the truth in the face of false evidence is faith.

Are you sure you phrased that right? I think it's the other way around. Holding on to false evidence in the face of truth is called faith. After all isn't faith the evidence of things unseen and therefor no evidence?

There are few definitions of 'faith'.

A held belief in something.

Trust and belief in God.

Beleiving what you know is true even though people present false reasons to not believe.

_____

I'm surprised atheists have as much faith as they do.

The problem here of course is that many people have the mistaken notion that saving faith is holding on to certain ideas about God and Jesus.

Hence, they are afraid to let go of them because for these people it amounts to letting go of their faith.

They do not understand their wisdom and truth of God is Jesus himself, not ideas about him.
