I like old homes.They are unique.They are built so much better than the homes now.I lived in a home from the 1930's in the early 70's.I would not buy an older home unless it had been totally renovated with the plumbing and electric wiring.

my parents' house is an 1840s farmhouse deal. Moving in was rough! The wiring had to be brought up to code, we had to remove shag carpeting (the 70s weren't kind to this place), and completely re-do parts of the upstairs.

Cool thing is...20 years later, the place is n-I-c-e. Old houses can be a pain, but sometimes the fixer uppers are worth it.

When I lived in my home from the 1930's it took forever to fill the bathtub and in the basement their was this old furnace that looked like an octopus.I had major problems with that furnace.

So cool! I got to visit the alamo when i was 10 in san antonio I hated when our group wanted to leave san antonio was so beautiful and interesting to me.

the Spanish style homes are unique to the early 20's here and mostly to my county.

that house still stands. I will be there tomorrow its one of the first homes I read.

actually what florida has isn't Spanish but a Spanisheque. what is from spain is found only in st.agustine. its a lot like the French quarter/ and ponce in Puerto rico. new Orleans wasn't French first but Spanish the French side of that city is across the missippi river

I'd forgotten about the Spanish style. I especially like the hacienda U shape where all the rooms open into an outdoor garden in the center of the U, with walls and gate on the open end. Very romantic, and peaceful, I think.
