If I know I am sharing a room with someone (like I have in the past on my Dragon runs) I pack earplugs. I even wear them at home when it rains hard!!!

They are very effective - but many people whine about comfort.

But the fact is, you WILL hear NOTHING.

What was that you were saying earlier about the thread becoming derailed Pizzaguy?:yes

Charles Darwin! Did we forget him? No one wants to mention Darwin?
I think the reason Darwin has not been cited is that no one can be sure he contributed a great deal to the theory of evolution. Darwin is just the whipping boy for those who have never read anything else - and have probably never read Darwin either! Robert Chambers wrote much of the theory in his book, 'Vestiges of the Natural History of Creation' well before Darwin wrote his 'The Origin of Species'. There was also Immanuel Kant who's ideas were very similar to Darwin many years earlier. Rather than evolution, he called it 'descent and modification'. In fact even some Greek Philosophers believed in 'natural creation' and I suspect some troglodytes did too.

Actually this is incorrect, Darwin's book had been written but not published when Robert Chambers' book was released.

I have researched Charles Darwin much though as Evolution is a hotly debated topic in my congregation. I personally do not agree with Darwin being called a scientist. He was inquisitive about the natural world, which we all are, but he came to the wrong conclusions then stubbornly refused to admit his mistake

That was SOOOOO long ago, let's not bring up ancient history. Let us look forward from this point, fearlessly concentrating on the future, leaving the past in the past, never burdened with guilt or haunted by inconvenient memories.

I suggest we talk about my car now...

Was just looking at the dark side of his stuff from a Christian perspective: the reason no one remembers him. No matter how insignificant he may be he has been used alot by darkness. I hope you know what I mean by 'darkness'. (The Origin of species. I read it alot and enjoyed it - not that I agree with the obvious lies in most of his work. Natural selection, just lol:biglol)

Did you know Darwin played for over 20 international clubs but didn't and couldn't score a single goal throughout his period? I'm being figurative here.

As always, establishing the truth is difficult or impossible after only a 'few' years. There may well be some mix up with Darwin's earlier book, 'Voyages of the Beagle' and also his 'testing' of ideas with peers.

The following Wikipedia extract may be useful.
"A more recent study by science historian John van Wyhe has determined that the idea that Darwin delayed publication only dates back to the 1940s, and Darwin's contemporaries thought the time he took was reasonable. Darwin always finished one book before starting another. While he was researching, he told many people about his interest in transmutation without causing outrage. He firmly intended to publish, but it was not until September 1854 that he could work on it full time. His estimate that writing his "big book" would take five years was optimistic."

'Vestiges of the Natural History of Creation' was published in 1844.
'The Origin of Species' was published in 1859.
