Stephen, (chosen by the Apostles to wait on tables) > and >
from http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts+6&version=EXB (6 and 7)(which read for miraculous content)

All the people [who sat] in the ·meeting [L Sanhedrin; 4:15] ·were watching Stephen closely [or stared intently at Stephen] ·and [or because they] saw that his face looked like the face of an angel.

He said, “Look! I see heaven open and the Son of Man [C a title for the Messiah; Dan. 7:13–14] standing at God’s right ·side [or hand].” [C Normally portrayed as “sitting” at God’s right side (Ps. 110:1), Jesus is standing either to give testimony to Stephen’s faithfulness, or to welcome him into God’s presence.]

There are near too many to choose from, but I am drawn to the Shulamite of the "Song of Solomon." She is representative to me of all that our Lord wants in in bride.

The Shulamite
She speaks:
2:1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

Solomon is addressed as “Beloved.”
The Shulimite is “My loved”, or “Love.”

Son 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes. (Holy Spirit eyes)
Son 1:16 Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.

Son 2:2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
Son 2:3 As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons" - 2:3.

The Apostle Paul. Because although severely tested and tried, he depended on the power of Christ to get him thru. A great writer of N.T. Books. A great soul winner. A great teacher/preacher. Great healer. Great man of God!

Deborah, not because she is my name sake as I spell mine different, but that she was a mighty woman of God. She was referred to as the mother of Israel because people would come to her for judgment. Deborah was also the prophetic leader in the battle against the Canaanite oppression against Israel.
Judges 4:1-24

Well Jesus was a hipster, and the world was too mainstream for him. I don't listen to mainstream music. We can relate.

But other than Jesus.

Well... This is hard. I like the prophets. They stood for Yahweh. Jesus was the prophet of prophets.

I like the prayer of Elisha. (I usually confuse the two).

"And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."
I think of this to remember how God has us covered.

Noah, because he made a massive boat and was like...'So long suckers'.

Thank you Classik. I would have voted for a famous soccer player but didn't see any in the Bible. I liked Paele, paylee, spelling?

Hehe. There are some sporting activities in the bible tho: the babies that wrestled in the stomach and maybe some others. LOL

Why?

That's part of the OP, I'm not picking on you, just in you (your brain).

When I was young, I was placed into a Catholic orphanage, and then I went into foster care. Toward the end of 3rd grade I was placed with my Father and his new wife along with my step brothers and sisters. I was introduced to them in Kindergarten.

Joseph was favored by his Father over his half brothers and he received a new coat with many colors. His brothers hated him for it and they mocked him, threw him into a hole to die and then sold him into slavery. Joseph ended up being falsely accused and wound up in prison. He found favor there and was later released and became second over all in Egypt. He then saved Egypt and Israel from starvation, was reunited with his brothers and showed grace toward them because he understood God's plans were not his plans.

Joseph is a magnificent story with many faucets, both inspirational and cutting to the bone. One I relate to in many, many ways.
