Your take on the two recent " zombie " stories ? Caution graphic story

I am sure buy now most of you have herd the story of the guy in Flordia found naked on a bridge eating the face of some other man . When the officer called out to this person he apparently turned and growled at the officer . The police officer apparently had to shoot this person multiple times before killing the person .

And if that wasn't enough , it was reported that police were called out to deal with a man who had a knife . It was reported that the person was stabbing himself and actually threw parts of his skin and intestine at the police .

I , like all of you find this to be very disturbing and I am wondering if this is only the beginning of what we are in store for ?

i would think a story like that is related to drug use or mental illness, and probably more the latter. I have read stories about real human zombies being created with some sort of plant drug that lasts for years. It is pretty tragic.

someone said it was "bath salts"... there was a boom in the recreational use of these a year or two back here in finland before they changed it so that the congress can outlaw new substances faster. there was a lot of discussion and many aficionados said that mdpv causes acute psychosis on the comedown and that its a kind of drug that you want to just dose again and again once you take it. i suspect it was some similiar stimulant. users just order it in large quantities and sell most of it, then they are still left with a lot and stay up for days on end on it BUT when they run out...it's flip out time!

No, zombies are only killed through destruction of the brain. Salt won't do anything, and anyone crazy enough to put their hands anywhere near a z's mouth is in for an unpleasant surprise.

but is cannabalism something we think cant happen in america? just like slavery still is around in america i think we may have some cannibalism in small amounts. its said the murder of adam walsh cut him in pieces and intended to eat him as they found his body refrigerated.

clearly the issue here is to determine what canon the zombie falls into. there are a billion ways to deal with a zombie and if you pick a wrong one you're screwed. i wouldn't try to hack off the head of a zombie from a high fantasy setting because those are reanimated with vile magics, so they don't need their brain.

Cannibalism is actually also a real fantasy some people act out. Believe it or not I heard this on a radio show once how some people arrange to eat or be eaten. It is so creepy, there is some sick people in this world.

Hm, true. If they're suffering from solanovirus, which causes reanimation of low level neural pathways (as described in Zombie Survival Guide) then decapitation works every time. You do have an excellent point though, that a magically reanimated corpse would be a different ball game. In that case, unless you were able to counter the magic spells (and few lay people could), the best bet might be to defeat the corpse jockey controlling them. Necromancers are a cowardly breed and don't much like physical combat themselves.

yup, only if they are any good they won't make it easy for you to get to them. you'd still have to disable the living corpses, so in that case, be prepared to sever several limbs.

by the way, i'd love a chemical take on the necromancer archetype, combining the romero style z-day scenario with the biopunk genre to make a non-magical modern superbaddie in a movie without superheroes where normal people are left to thwart his diabolical necromantic plans. like, the mancer could be a character who dabbles in chemistry and drugs and one day synthesizes a zombie chemical and makes himself into a lich with drugs to make the zombies attack everyone else but him.

Well the girlfriend came out with a statement today where she makes the claim that he never did " bath salts " and she also made the claim that he was a nice person .

Last she saw of him , so she reports , he was clutching a bible , he stated that he was battling demons , then said goodbye .

Makes me think of a manchurian candidate ??

i have a really dumb question. since fdle will investigate that shooting by that officer. where is the justification? was he a threat with a knife? did all other options fail. 6 times he shot and well cops took pictures. that is how i got to see the victims face.

Can we not offer the Zombie peace and love? Zombies have feelings too! possibly killing is the wrong approach

Maybe some incense and meditation might make it feel special! I am sure they might excel at meditation.
