TOPIC: DANGERS OF SEXUAL IMMORALITY AMONG ADOLESCENT
The lord God who created sex instructed us on how it should be used, that is, sex is expected to be between legally married couples and not between “singles” or those in “Courtship” or “friendship”.
This is a sexual desire that is part of every human being it is a natural instinct of man placed there by the good of mankind however with each natural human desire God give, he gives us also the responsibility to maintain, control it God did not create sex to destroy you.
The bible says in the book (1Cor. 6:19-20) that our body is the temple of the holy spirit, He/she that commit sexual immorality is defiling God’s holy temple which is his/her body and the lord frown at this act so much.
WHO SHOULD HAVE SEX?
Legally married couple: A mature man and woman who are legally married
WHEN TO HAVE SEX: Sex should be done in marriage, it is for Pleasure, Procreation and Ultimate sharing between married couples
CAUSES OF SEXUAL IMMORALITY
- Pressure: From friends, teachers, lecturers
- Indiscipline
- In contentment
- Idleness: An idle hand is the devil’s workshop
- Worldly music: What you hear will affect your thought
- Watching pornography magazine
- Absence of sex education: Elderly men have been capitalizing on the ignorance of young girls to satisfy desires
- Lack of self-control
CONSEQUENCE OF SEXUAL IMMORALITY
-Enmity with God: You will lose your fellowship & relationship with God (Psalm34:20-21)
- You will lose your integrity: Everybody around you will know you are cheap and a public dog, they will see you as an irresponsible boy that is not dignity
- You lose your prayer life: Fornications always find it difficult to approach God. They lose the zeal for prayer and become vulnerable to satanic attack
- You can even contract sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/AIDS, syphilis, gonorrhoea.
- Premarital sex enslaves and destroys
- Unwanted pregnancy
- It bring guilt and regret
HOW TO AVOID/FLEE FROM SEXUAL IMMORALITY
- Be genuinely born again: it takes a regenerated soul to overcome the temptation of the devil
- Break all relationship with unbelieving friends
- Be addicted to your bible! They word have I hid in mine hear, that I might not sin against thee (Psalm 119:9-11)
- Do not stay idle! Keep yourself busy, if you are idle, you will allow the devil to use you, so keep yourself busy with Godly activities and your studies
- Listen to Godly counsel from your parent
- Dress moderately:- Do not wear tight clothe that expose your nakedness or that show the shape of your body.
- Flee from youthful lust (1Cor 6:18-20)
- Be contented with what you (II Timothy 6:6). Do not sell your body for money, admission or for any material thing. Your life is more precious.
- Be firm and brave in your decision
- Guide your heart (Proverb 4:23): Stop reading all books, magazines and stories that are designed to arouse your sexual passions. Instead cultivate the habit of reading Christian literatures and the bible.
RAPE
Rape means to forcefully have sex with a lady without her consent
HOW TO AVOID RAPE
- Avoid going out/going out alone in the night
- Lock the door when you are dressing up
- Avoid lonely and dark places
- Avoid visiting boys alone
- Dress properly
- Learn to cover yourself when sleeping
WATCH WORD
Your virginity is your glory keep it,
Your virginity is your honour hold it,
Your virginity is your report card cherish it.
GODLY MARRIAGE
Heb 13:14 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled, marriage is between mature man and a woman, who keep themselves till their wedding night and do not engage in premarital sex before marriage. (May God help us amen).
