I will say that is true. oh, I get to enter into one of the oldest cemeteries tomorrow. I will snap pics if I can. rebel flags mark confederate vets.
I have been there before , my wife visited that one before the fence as put in and it was cleaned up. one of two that have civil war vets. the other isn't on the city grid nor even has any power to it. both aren't maintained by any government entity. the city I work for does have a sexton and plots to sell. I read that today, all two meters for the shop. I get that from the west end. no need to enter via normal way. What a great chance to have a look-see at some of the old tombstones!
lol. I meant from the public access for visiting not the south west gate.I could be cheeky and point out that the 'normal way' for one to enter a cemetery is to die...........
but, nah, I don't want to be cheeky this evening
there are about 30 marked graves and about 80 graves total. if I have the chance I will. oslo was once bigger then vero, so this is part of the olso ghostown.I knew what you meant, even without knowing what the other gate would be called.
I look forward to seeing photos.
not much to see, I have posted some of the homes already. ie the helesth and hallstrom homes. those are of that time frame. the cemetery, I haven't yet and the link has the sexton groves. waldo sexton well what part of vero/indian river county south of Gifford didn't he have some influence? here his garden. end of another route and well I was asked not to take pics of that area without the permission of the owner. but they have a fb page. It's amazing how many small communities didn't have train stations.
Oslo ghost town? Sounds intriguing!
it was bigger. What a cool place, McKee jungle gardens looks to be!
