Only the Lord can stop evil in the world, so one must raise their children to choose wisely when they come of age.
You were replying to this:

Wondering says:
YOU won't take your child to a movie you do not approve.
However, one day she'll go with her own two feet.
You'll think differently then...
You'll care about WHAT movies are made, but you won't have any power over it.
Only the Lord can stop evil in the world, so one must raise their children to choose wisely when they come of age.

You see Deborah, it's this way of thinking that has led us to where we are today.
"Only the Lord can stop evil".
So let's sit back and do nothing to fight evil?
We are God's hands and feet.
All it takes for evil to flourish, is for good to do nothing.

You can raise your children as wisely as you want to. They're surrounded by the world. The world is chock full of violence and sexual images. Images that are detrimental to the character of womanhood and teach men it's okay to have that image. It has changed how men see us, and I'm not talking about being sexual objects, which is not harmful to women, but other images are very harmful to us.

With each generation we become more and more desensitized.
It DOES matter what we see in movies, what we hear in songs, what we read in magazines.
I'm for censorship at this point. Since man is incapable of acting in a responsible manner and not bow to the degenerate part of man, which just causes more degeneracy, then the churches, as a unit, or the govt, should step in and make a law against this.

There are laws against drugs and driving drunk. What's the difference?
We are killing ourselves by killing our decency.

Raising our children wisely is not enough.
If you don't see this, I can't convince you.

Wondering

It's hard on my brother who raised his oldest to know better go out and use pot and have a child out of wedlock.
This proves my point.
Children are exposed to many other influences - not just their parents'.
Children tend to do better in a "decent" society, they do worse in a degenerate society because the infulences are evil.

For instance, some children were always born out of wedlock.
The difference is that today it's ACCEPTED, and so the percentage just keeps rising.

are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality."

Government hasn't always had a say in marriage.

The History of Marriage Licenses
by Cynthia Clark
I like your quote.

I'd like to add that God instituted marriage from the very beginning. He made a wife for Adam - they lived as a couple. The government does not supersede what God has intended. If God intended for a marriage to consist of a man and a woman, the government cannot change this.

The government has the unique capability of damaging everything it tries to fix.

There is a difference between caring and being afraid.
Are you aware that people write books, articles, etc. against Islam all the time and they are not being killed? I have watched debates between Muslims and those who left Islam and they have not been killed and are all living right here in the US and even in the same cities.
I feel like you're not living in my world.
When the debate you watch is over, do you think the former Muslim goes back to his home and family? NO. Because he had to flee.
We have a case here of a father that killed his 18 year old daughter because she wanted to marry outside the Muslim religion.
Have you seen any movies lately making fun of Islam?
Please ask yourself why.
I DO believe that FEAR and social unrest is a motivating factor.
Hillary told the relatives of the 4 men killed in Benghazi that the riot happened because they saw VIDEO speaking against them. Even Hillary knows Muslims take a stand when spoken against.

Wondering

If you hear a movie that offends you simply don't watch it.

So it's a crime if an athiest mocks Jesus ?
If there's something on TV you don't want your child to see - just turn it off.

Just remember to quit work and stay home to keep an eye on the child all day long until at least the age of 18 or 20 when the influence will not be as great as to what they see and hear.

Oh. And don't ever send them over to a friends house, unless that parent is home monitoring them too.

Yes, not to promote any particular religion. But kids can pray at lunch, at recess, before and after classes, and they can even decide that they want to pray together before a competition. But it cannot be promoted or lead by a school employee.

Here is a case that the ACLU got involved in......
NEWARK — The American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey today revisited the most important student speech case — Tinker v. Des Moines — with a friend-of-the-court brief submitted in support of a Bridgeton High School student's right to wear a red armband bearing the word "life."

"While the ACLU seeks to ensure that public schools do not impose religious views on students, we just as fervently fight against school officials who try to silence the religious and political speech of students," said ACLU-NJ Legal Director Ed Barocas.

Bridgeton school administrators banned the student from observing a nationwide day of solidarity against abortion, which she had wanted to mark by distributing anti-abortion literature during non-instructional hours and by remaining silent, letting her red "life" armband speak for her. The school district's initial objections, according to the student's lawsuit, arose from a misreading of the establishment clause, which prevents the government from imposing religion on individuals. But, as the ACLU-NJ explained in its brief, as long as the speaker is a student, not a government official, religious speech deserves the same protections as any other speech.

No one ever mentioned private prayer.
But you oppose any prayer being said publicly? Why?
Prayer mentioned God. Every religion believes in God.
And, we live in a Christian country. At least we did until we decided to start giving it away to every other religion until we cannot even display the Nativity scene in many places.

The history of prayer in schools:

School Prayer
School Prayer - A Legacy of First Amendment Revision
School Prayer was removed from the U.S. public education system by slowly changing the meaning of the First Amendment through a number of court cases over several decades. The following is a summary of three pivotal cases in the early 1960's:

"The Regent's School Prayer" (Engel v. Vitale, 1962)
The New York education system adopted a school prayer to be said before the start of each day's classes. This prayer promoted good moral character, provided spiritual training, and helped combat juvenile delinquency. The regents wrote a school prayer that was non-sectarian or denominational. In fact, it was so bland that it became known as the "to whom it may concern prayer." Here it is: "Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our Country."

Justice Hugo Black wrote the following for the majority, "It is no part of the business of government to compose official prayers… the Regent's prayer are inconsistent both with the purposes of the Establishment Clause and the Establishment Clause itself." This ruling did not stop school prayer completely, only those schools that had a regent style prayer. Voluntary prayer was still permitted.

Senator Sam Ervin of North Carolina said, "I should like to ask whether we would be far wrong in saying that in this decision the Supreme Court has held that God is unconstitutional and for that reason the public school must be segregated against Him?" John Bennett, Dean of Union Theological Seminary continued, "If the Court in the name of religious liberty tries to keep a lid on religious expression and teaching both in the public schools and also in connection with experiments that involve cooperation with public schools, it will drive all religious communities to the establishment of parochial schools, much against the will of many, and to the great detriment of public schools and probably of the quality of education." At the time there were just a handful of Protestant schools in the country. Today, they number in the thousands.

"School Prayer" (Murray v. Curlett, 1963)
School prayer was the focus of Madalyn Murray O'Hair, a militant left wing atheist with close ties to the American Communist Party, when she filed a lawsuit against the school board of Baltimore. The local court judge, J. Gilbert Pendergast, dismissed the petition stating, "It is abundantly clear that petitioners' real objective is to drive every concept of religion out of the public school system." The case went to the Maryland Court of Appeals, and the court ruled, "Neither the First nor the Fourteenth Amendment was intended to stifle all rapport between religion and government."

The "School Prayer" case then made its way to the U.S. Supreme Court. Leonard Kerpelman addressed the court saying prayer in the public schools had been tolerated for so long that it had become traditional and that anything that is unconstitutional does not become constitutional through tradition. He went on to say the Constitution had erected a "wall of separation" between church and state, at which point Justice Potter Steward interrupted, asking where this wording appears. Kerpelman was stumped and an embarrassing silence followed. When he regained his composure, he stated that the text was not explicit on the point but that it had been interpreted to mean so.

Remarkably, the National Council of Churches and several Jewish organizations favored Madalyn O'Hair's case! Not a single Christian organization filed a brief in support of school prayer. The Supreme Court ruled 8 to 1 in favor of abolishing school prayer and Bible reading in the public schools. Justice Tom Clark wrote, "Religious freedom, it has long been recognized that government must be neutral and, while protecting all, must prefer none and disparage none." The federal government considers atheism to be a religion, and this Supreme Court ruling favored atheism, at the expense of the Christian majority.

"School Prayer & Bible Reading" (Abington Township School District v. Schempp, 1963)
The Pennsylvania school system complied with a state law requiring that ten verses of scripture be read every day. The readings were without comment and any student could request to be excused. This case came to the Supreme Court at the same time as the Murray v. Curlett case, and the court ruled on them together. In a nutshell, the court's ruling stated that School Prayer and Bible reading were violations of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. In ironic fashion, the court established a secular religion for our school system, thus violating the "establishment clause" of the First Amendment.

So too did the Muslim that slaughtered Theo Van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker, for readying to create the movie, Behind the Veil. This took place in Amsterdam in 2004.
Then there was the woman who went into hiding who initiated a "Draw Muhammad Day" event. She received death threats. As did the producers of the Canadian cartoon television series South Park. After they produced an episode that poked fun of all religious figures including Jesus. But it was certain Muslims that took offense to Muhammad being included and threatened the producers with death.

And let's not forget how Hillary blamed a movie at first for what transpired ultimately in Benghazi. That Muslim terrorist assault on an American compound resulted in four dead Americans and others severely wounded.

One thinks of Salman Rushdie and his work of fiction entitled, Satanic Verses.
He too went into hiding after being threatened with death.
Interestingly years later the former American musician Cat Stevens, now a Muslim convert who goes by the name Yusuf Islam, said years ago in an interview when asked if he'd carry out the fatwa (death warrant) the then Ayatollah of Iran put on Rushdie, yes! Because it would be his duty to defend the prophet.
He later tried to walk that statement back but apparently was unaware he was recorded at the time on a TV show.

Also, be aware that there are proxy offenses punishable by violence or even death according to the mind of some Muslims. For instance, years ago an American English teacher working in Sudan gifted a male Muslim student a teddy bear. The child took it upon himself to name the bear Muhammad.
The teacher was facing 40 lashes for his choice of teddy bear name.

Islam does not translate to peace. As in, it is a religion of peace. Rather, Islam translates to mean submission. Submission to the will of Allah. (God in Arabic). This is not an exclusive ideology regarding submission either. Not something that pertains only to Muslims submitting to the rules and teachings of the prophet. As we can come to understand when we read of any non-Muslim person being killed by a Muslim for an offense against Islam.
And of course we need not reiterate Muslim terrorists demonstrate Islam is not tolerant or inclusive.
Thanks for posting specific cases Mustard Socks.
I fail to understand why some do not see what is happening.

I'm not a prophet, but I think it won't be long before the hatred and contempt of the anti-Trump crowds spills over into unfair, lawless, even violent persecution of Christians.
I think you are assuming, wrongly, that there are NO CHRISTIANS in those crowds of demonstrators? That's a pretty wide--and completely wrong--assumption.

They are not protesting Christianity just because they are protesting a president's election. That's a reach of epic proportions on your part. Jesus Christ is against HATE if you remember correctly. Christians know God himself determines every person's ethnicity. Or they should know, anyway. So where is the reason to hate someone for that?

An overwhelmingly large number of Trump voters voted for him by default, not because they liked him more, but because they liked Hillary less. Most likely if the Democratic party had run anyone else besides Hillary and Bernie, Trump would not be president today, and we all know it. Instead, they are protesting hate, and the fear of the future of that hate which he has been promoting. They haven't been wrong, with the staggering upswing of hate crimes being reported since the election. They haven't been wrong, since the president-elect himself has had to go on national TV and whisper "'to the camera.... 'stop it'", instead of addressing the NATION ITSELF. (What a Freudian slip of his that was!)

Notice, the crowds are becoming ever larger since Trump appointed Steve Bannon, a known white supremacist, as his Chief of Staff. What is the Chief of Staff position? The one that keeps the president "informed". What has Trump, diametrically opposite his well-known 24/7 media trolling, come out with? "I wasn't aware all these hate crimes were happening." Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me! Really? Does he think he can wipe his hands clean--with that piece of sophist fluff? I honestly thought, if it were simply whining, these crowds would have dispersed by now, surely. Instead they are growing. At this point, after his appointment of Steve Bannon as his ears and eyes of the nation, I am actually thinking of joining them, even at my age. Three relatively conservative CHRISTIAN churches are right now discussing joining them, in protest of the building hate in this country.

I'm getting so I run screaming from the room when I hear stuff like this. Which is every day. WAKE UP. I'm becoming more and more convinced every hour that God has given us exactly what we deserve for our arrogance. People like Trump and Bannon as the head of this government of this sinful country. Imagine. Electing someone who claims to be a Christian, says he's pro-life, yet conveniently ignores the fact that he's spreading hatred among the citizens, causing division, and blinding, of all people-----the Christians to the growing hatred. Westboro Baptist Church must be shouting "Hallelujah!!" to the heavens right now. If Trump had never spoken about hating so many groups of people, I might have actually listened to him more. Jesus never spread love with hatred. NEVER. That was my first of many red flags.

....completely unprepared to defend our faith....
No truer statement has been said on this site. You cannot defend faith in the Lord using hate. No.

I don't get it.
Who is showing hate,
Jethro Bodine and Trump?
Or the demonstartors?
And Obama or Hillary who are SILENT about them?

What is so strange, that neither Barak Obama nor Hillary Clinton are coming out to condemn the rioters. Their silence to me
says a lot. Do they oppose what these folks are doing. If they cannot in good conscience condemn these people it shows that they have let down the American people. These are lawless people. It seems to me that they have two types of laws one for one set of people and another for someone else. If these two people are willing to see people's businesses and property damaged what message are they sending.
I hope that IF the National Guards have to be called out no one would be upset. This is lawlessness pure and simple. What are the professors of the colleges saying. Will they be paid for not teaching the student.
And why should they have to clean up TRUMP's mess? HE created it, so not its time for him to actually BE presidential, instead of simply posturing to ACT like a president.

Even if they did come out and try to dial back the anger from Trump instilling fear and hatred among the populance, they would only be attacked by the right for doing so. And you know without doubt that is 200% truth.

Stop. Its the fear OF HIS HATE and the haters HE is appointing that is dividing this country, and has been since the very moment he announced his candidacy. As a businessman he knows all too well how fear can be used, and for what ends. How about let's see HIM come out and address the nation to calm it down?????? Where is our president-elect? Where are those who are asking THAT QUESTION????

Instead, he's off desperately discussing with his lawyers how he can get out of a fraud lawsuit against him until after he's inaugurated. Knowing if he's in jail by then, there's no chance of him ever being inaugurated.

What a world. If this doesn't turn people back to the Lord, nothing will.

Trump's silence, despite his 24/7 trolling the media, says a LOT MORE, TOO, considering how his supporters are always proudly saying he's never been the shy type. DOESN'T IT? Have you considered that, too?

Why should the crowds listen to Trump?????
He's the one they hate, remember?????

:confused2

Our comportment of allowing them to exclude and suppress our beliefs has lead to the hostility we see today. Jesus said we would be persecuted for believing in Him.
It says a lot more about the people Christians kept electing, and keep electing, that promise to do something about pro-abortion, gay marriage, and other Christian values----with a conservative dominated Congress----and NEVER do a thing or hear a peep out of them. Except to blame "all those liberals". Where? If the country is so conservative, and the Congress is dominated by conservatives dedicated to fighting Christian values, why haven't they?? You mean to tell me that the minority of "liberals" in Congress have more power---than the majority???? Than those who have the right to call upon the LORD through Jesus Christ as their Savior??? What? How could that be? Unless the Lord is displeased... with Christians. Just as much.

The Lord listens to and blesses the righteous. Not sinners who turn a blind eye to offering compassion to the fear and suffering of people. Jesus condemned Jewish religious LEADERS for doing precisely that. He didn't condemn the people for their fear and suffering. Didn't He.

Well, if he's supposed to be this near-perfect presidential material as he and his supporters so proudly claim, it would certainly go a long way if he did even attempt to, now wouldn't it?

He won't know unless he TRIES. If he doesn't TRY, even you should be asking.... WHY NOT?

Ummm. TC,
Please be advised that it is NOT Trump supporters that are doing the rioting.

Last time I looked it was the supporters of Hillary and Obama.
It would be nice if Hillary would ask them to please accept the outcome, like they're supposed to, and stop burning cars and looting stores. Such nice people they are, aren't they? Wouldn't you have loved it if they were protesting on YOUR block??
