No, he did not. It is a figure of speech. There is absolutely no reason to believe that it is a "direct time correlation between heaven and earth."

You keep saying that. Figure of speech figure of speech. It's not a figure of speech. It's what was said. God is not the author of confusion. It's what it says, it's what it means.

I have good comprehension. I can read good. I'm not above learnin when I'm wrong about something, but I'm not wrong about this and if you think that you sayin I'm wrong, and without any other explanation at all, then all I can do is to chuckle at your carnal mindedness. :lol

Does the scripture say anything about such a correlation ?

Good question. Yes it does...

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day..../

See? :woot2

kc1. I find your presentation very interesting. There's truth in there if folks don't come at it with preconceptions.

That's what I thought Brother. The Lord wants us to do more than read His Word. He wants us to meditate on it, think deeper on it than cursory things. For one to be able to do this, he must set aside his preconceptions and open his heart and spirit to receive.

Be hold the Lamb of God figure of speech ?

Joh_1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Pete is simply explaining God is out side of time

Of course God is not the author of confusion, that has absolutely nothing to do with the matter. It is a figure of speech, I've even told you which one--a simile--and shown that the context very much supports this. You just don't want that to be the case.

Buy you don't have good comprehension then since I have clearly given the reasons for why you and kc1 are wrong. It is you alone who just keeps repeating that you're right and whoever disagrees with you is wrong, without providing any reasoning whatsoever.

Be careful when throwing around accusations of "carnal mindedness" when you are the one who has consistently argued against sound theolog in favour of "spiritual" interpretations. Your spiritual pride is keeping you from seeing the truth.

How many commentaries have you read that agree with you on this?

What truth? What preconceptions could keep one from seeing this supposed truth?

That's funny. You know that's not what we're talking about. Go make me a sandwich...lol :lol

It has very much to do with what we are talking about as that is how the Bible uses numbers in non-literal ways to teach us things.

Perhaps you would prefer Psalm 90:4, "A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night." (ESV)

Shall we now conclude that a thousand years are like a three or four hour period of time ("a watch in the night")? Again, this is a simile, a figure of speech, which is telling us something about God.

Psa_50:10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. Figure of Speech?
By the beginning of the Millennium, the third temple (Ez. 40) in Jerusalem will be rebuilt. Israel will be the ‘the head, and not the tail’ (Deut.28:13) in the Millennium. The ‘adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God’ (Rom. 9: 4) belongs to Israel, therefore salvation will be ‘of the Jews’ (John. 4:22). ‘In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.’ (Zech. 8:23)
It is necessary to consider the entire context (Isaiah 50: 7-10)
‘7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.
9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.’
I think the literal meaning of these verses is clear to all. Let's look at their prophetic significance:

9 v.— ‘house’ is the third temple (Ez. 40); 9v. – ‘folds’ are local assemblies (churches);
10v. –‘a thousand hills’ are 1000 years.

These verses say that in the Millennium there will be no sacrifices in the Temple or in the churches. I think you understand why they won’t be in Millennium.

I disagree

I aint no silly woman

2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

You are absolutely right my old friend Edward. It's so funny and sad for me to realize that after retiring from the full time pastoring, In these latter years I have learned so much more of what I used to think I had it all figured out. HA, HA, what a jerk!!

Free my friend. I have looked closely at each of kc1's theological statements with an open spiritual mind and I see truth in each one. Perhaps not exactly how he phrased them, but truth never the less. I'm an avid student of Revelation and that's where you will find nuggets of truth.

"Nuggets of truth"--even Mormonism, JWs, and Islam have those.

I asked what truth and what preconceptions keep one from seeing this truth. Perhaps you can provide answers.

Free. We all end up with preconceptions as to our own interpretations of the Book of Revelation. I might believe in a pre-trib rapture as the Church at Philadelphia promises and you might not. Therefore a certain statement concerning that would color your acceptance of a truth stated, where I would accept it.

Prophesy is a big one. I might accept a truth that someone states where as you might believe the prophesy speaks to something entirely different based on preconceptions.

But this goes far beyond just Revelation. This is reinterpreting things throughout the Bible in ways that make no sense. We simply cannot go about handling the Bible so haphazardly, making connections where there are none.

Statements such as "Biblical doctrine is not built on the historical significance of the verses of the Bible, but only on the prophetic," is not only false but actually quite dangerous. This is one of the major problems of the church and always has been.

I agree with your statement. I like what James Ryle had to say about what we are concerned with....

James Ryle,
"Sooner or later the last word will be spoken. All debate will cease, and arguments will come to an end. Somebody somehow in someway will be able to sum it all up and put everything and everyone in their place. That somebody is Jesus.

Until then we are surrounded by a hurricane of opinions, ideas, suggestions, postulations, pontifications, exaggerations, exclamations, theories, concepts, notions, imaginations, vanities, snippets, and a host of other verbal squalls that wreck lives and strew debris across the landscape.

The wind blows faster and faster, the swirl moves more and more quickly — gathering speed and force. The vortex of the man-made Blow Cloud sucks virtually everything and everyone into it spin. Soon it will reach such velocity that one will hardly be able to put a clear thought on the table for discussion.

BOOM! That’s when a trumpet blast will call the whole thing to a screeching halt and we will find ourselves dizzy with nonsense as we stand before the Lord. He will look us over, and His gaze will humble us one and all.

And then He will speak — and what He says goes. He will have the final word on everything and everyone. It would be a good idea to become friends with Him now, don’t you think?"

This is exactly how I feel my friend.
