I have talked about the home there its right across from the armory and the prior owner was a colorful character who lost the home and was arrested. she complained to the agr about us when we speed of out the armory.

the projection booth, if you go to my siggy, look up the drive inn called angle rd drive inn . I will post that photo there so that other can enjoy.

She obviously believed: Thou shalt not speed.

Some people just can't be happy in life.

I found a video of the theatre. its not much. but the booth is aimed at and it will help give and idea. I remember when it was a garage as well . the bay doors would be open and I heard cars being worked on when I left the armory going by it. its not far from the unit. I drove by it to see if I could get a great photo and I did. I noticed the booth was easily visible from angle road. that is why I had to photo it. there is a drop with a meter there and its energized. I'm not sure if they will start construction there and raze the booth and given the land clearing its likely. there was a track hoe nearby. if I could walk around it I would have photographed it.

those trailers were there for some time. there is another screen that is related to the owners who operated both this and the ft.pierce drive inn. it was made into a car dealership sign. I remember the whole place as it sat in plain view with that art deco entrance sign of the last movie there and the booth wasn't visible. I bet even the speakers were left.

the before they cleared the place and made it part of a now closed Toyota dealership. I had to go there to get parts for my truck a few times. I will photo this next time. there's a bbq place nearby. If you look the tile on the ground by the road is the ticket booth and I'm not sure if its the concessions too.

There's only one active drive-in theater in my area of Illinois.

Others have been turned into boat storage sites, self-store units, subdivisions .... sad that drive-ins aren't as fully in existence as they once were.

I have been perusing this old map of vero before the split from st.lucie county. I have found that a hotel was moved a few blocks west and the county and this map show the exact same building style and shape that is believed to be the edgewood motel. the sleepy eye lodge per this map is west on Seminole ave, not on the east corner of Seminole and 21st. the diesel plant isn't even built!

If the diesel plant hasn't been built yet, then the map is definitely old!

Old maps are fascinating!
the name vero is a give away as that was the city name before 1925, the name was changed to vero beach and the the slogan of where the tropics begin was added. the names of the streets are interesting. Kickapoo ave,

they punched a few new doors into the diesel plant. I will photo the changes . I'm not a fan of that but its necessary for the brewery. the turbine is visible from the north side. the doors that you like are now gone. those were in bad shape and not original.

Those doors could have been replicated. So what if they weren't original to the building. The 'few new doors' aren't original either.

I don't think I can bear to see any further pictures of what's happening to the former diesel plant .... too sad ........ :shame

It's not loosing it's over look.the plant itself through the years has been modified. The awning is gone, the plant has no plumbing, not even a bathroom. So yes it will have some changes but it won't loose it's art deco look.the walls in its hey day were more decorated. The diamonds are gone
