This morning I ran to Wallyworld for a much needed set of Rain Pants. I have 2 rain jackets but wore out my rain pants last year. Luckily they had ONE pair left in the size and color I wanted. 84 degrees out right now! Got to try them out after leaving home to go to work. They seemed to work well. Nylon pants, the rain beaded up on them.

Just about all of Missouri and Illinois are now in the path of severe Thunderstorms which could include damaging winds, Hail, Tornadoes, and Flash Flooding. Late-week severe weather risk to extend from Texas to New York state, perhaps Maine

The rain quit about half an hour ago but another line of Thunderstorms and heavy rain is due in 1 hour. That should coincide with about the time I have to go outside to go to work, lol. This should be interesting! Well it's only about .7 miles so just under 3/4 of a mile I have to pedal so I won't be out in it long.

A pile of Ping Pong ball sized Hail in Carroll County, IL today. The Hail accumulated on the roof, then was washed down into the gutters and then into the downspout resulting in the pile you see here.

Some wind damaged buildings in Chicago today, possibly caused by a microburst. The Chicago Fire Dept. isued a mandatory evacuation order for the damaged buildings.

Well I got REAL lucky! I spend 10 minutes donning all my raingear, made my way to work, and it was barely starting to rain once I got inside. Then it poured like crazy and hasn't stopped since. I doubt i'll miss it when I go to leave at 4:30am. Last year that was about the time the storms seemed to hit.

True! Just last Monday morning here near Chicago, IL it was 27 degrees and I was wearing a wool Balaclava over my head as I left work. Last week we had snow. Yesterday and today it was 84 degrees!

Well it's been raining all day and it's supposed to be raining all day tomorrow too, but then it's supposed to become nice again after that.
