Reading dictionary can be enlightening. For instance, take the word, blame. When we assign blame to others, what is the result? People do it all the time. Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed satan...did satan blame anyone? No, he kept quiet.

Do you realize what this suggests? This is deep, and not well understood. the devil made me do it...the woman made me do it.

When we blame others for a wrong that has been done, we give to them the responsibility for it. You with me on this?

Question: God gave man dominion over the earth, so how did Satan get it? Did he steal it? No. We gave it to him. Adam blamed Eve, thereby giving her the responsibility, then Eve blamed Satan, thereby giving him the responsibility, and dominion .

So I believe the way we get dominion back is by taking responsibility and offering no blame upon others. We have a good example of this in scripture. Who kept stumblingband falling down? Who kept taking his own responsibility for his mistakes? Hint; who was called a man after God's own heart?! Exactly.

The clincher for this...is, going into the root word and etymology of the word "blame"...takes us to the word...Blaspheme.

Is that an eye opener or what?!

...the heart of man is more wicked and deceitful than we can imagine. I think most of the time when we sin, it isn't the devil but our own deceitful heart. It was my fault, not the devils. I take the responsibility, Lord forgive me.

Eh? Chew on that one, Brothers & Sisters...

I love this. This is where the rubber meets the road brother. This separates the light and dark. The light acknowledges the darkness that resides in our own hearts and does not want it to remain. We repent because we acknowledge what is true about ourselves and we want Christ to replace that part with himself.

Darkness cannot comprehend this concept, because darkness is okay with blaming everything else on everyone else.

Yep. I'm still chewing on this myself. There's even more to it. It's like I got a revelation this morning. I haven't found any scriptures to back it up yet...but I know that they're there somewhere.

Who should we blame for what is going on in this world, the Government, the Churches, Satan or ourselves!!! I will say ourselves as if we would put more energy into witnessing Christ to others than we do arguing and debating Gods word we could make a big difference in the world. It truly does not matter who is right or who is wrong through the teachings of theology or doctrine for if we are allowing Gods Spirit minister His word to us then we need to stand by our own convictions of faith in Christ and be that witness that God has called all of us to be so we can get back to basics and take His salvation message out to those who need to hear and will accept Jesus into their hearts and also to help meet the needs of those less fortunate then ourselves.

Are we witnessing Christ to others as the disciples did in simplicity of His word, or are we allowing ourselves to be puffed up like the Pharisees who loved to be seen of others for their ways of vanity. Salvation is not theology or doctrines of the Church, but a conscience desire to want Jesus in your life and how to receive His call to Salvation. People want to clean up others before they come to the Lord, but Jesus says you come as you are and I will change whatever needs changing starting with your heart.

John 10:9 I am the door, if any man enter in, he shall be saved. Jesus was the word made flesh to dwell among us, John 1:14, to show us the way back to Gods grace. John 14:6 Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Romans 10:9, 10 if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in his heart that God has raised him from the dead thou shall be saved. Vs.10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

When you point a finger to blame others three of those fingers point back to you.

People care so much about trying to rule and govern over other peoples lives, and blamming everyone else they forget to look in the mirror.

Some people care so much about other peoples lives and beliefs they even want them cencored.

It’s good stuff to chew on.

James shows us our responsibility in the process -

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; (blaming God) for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. James 1:13-15

each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

All the serpant did is test adam and eve. Not serpants fault they make there own choice.

In general when people take responsibility they usually get off lighter because someone acturally didnt lie for once.

I don't blame the serpant for my choices.

Great insight Edward!
Along with blaming other people, we see justifying bad behavior.
"I did it because he stole from me first". Yiu get the idea.

It all goes along with what you were saying earlier about taking responsibility because if we are going to love our neighbors as ourselves, maybe we ought to learn how to love ourselves first by taking the log out first.

Yes sir, Brother. I also realized that...with responsibility, comes some authority. Does that make sense?

This reply has had me thinking. It ties in with what the Lord had been teaching me.

...we repent because we acknowledge what is true about ourselves and we want Christ to replace that part with Himself...

The Lord taught me that in order for Him to work on us, inside...further changing us, and sanctifying us slowly into His image...we must be in His presence.

I have taken to inviting the Lord to go with me each morning, to work, wherever. This puts me in His presence. While I've been thinking, the Lord is with me, I'll be protected today and prolly have an (easier) days work...
He's been busy working on my insides while we are out and about. Things I don't even realize or comprehend about myself. My faults and stuff. I dont even realuze what He is doing to me...

Until I feel the changes within. I am not the same man as a year ago. Staying in the Lord's presence is so important to us everyday. The Lord can't do His work on us, unless we are in His presence...

I am truly happy for you! And, you know it is the Lord because the changes are real.

This scripture goes with what you said about repenting of things we really do not like about ourselves and then letting Christ fill that area.

Luke 11:24 "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first."

We need to clean our houses (repenting), but then have the Lord living there so more spirits don't find a fancy new place to reside.

I guess that relates to you knowing he is going with you to work.

I only agree with reservations. Prostitutes were, for most of them, molested as children. This is also true of homosexuals. These people had life changing events happen to them. As children, they have every right to blame their their predators, but as adults it is incumbent upon them to work with the Lord to overcome the sin imposed upon them. We must recognize those who have severe issues from those who are merely trying to avoid accountability.

There seems to be a severe victim culture going on and its crumbling nations. Its it everyone wants everyone else to know they are a victim. Every person has probably been a victim of something in there life. Whats the point the world is trying to make.

That may or may not be true. My experience has been to see a culture of psychopathy taking the world by storm. The prevailing thought of conservatives, I've found ( I used to be one ), is "we don't care what happened to you. Don't touch my money and don't touch the money of my corporate friends. We don't care if the Episcopal Church pedophiles wrecked your life or your family. Get over it or else. Just leave the Episcopal Church alone." That sums up the attitude of Texas conservatives from my experience.

i dunno. i was lobotomized and electroshocked, not voluntarily. then the shrinks came after me for "Non-compliance" (read: they weren't getting $$$). as a result, I became enamored of the antipsychiatry literature and....and...

oddly enough, all that eventually led to repentance. but...lessons I think I've learned, as a former "weakling" saved and made whole by Christ...

1) very few people care about other peoples' problems 2) most of those very few people are Christians 3) play the hand you're dealt. in my case, that means I get labeled with more psychobabble stuff, even as I'm made whole, cuz...its a fallen world, right? 4) attitude of gratitude. that's been a big one for me... 5) golden rule, always applies. ALWAYS. 6) His Kingdom is not of this world, so...I try to shine a light where I can, plant seeds where I can, and let those in and of the world worry about worldly values and worldly wisdom, etc.

maybe its because I know what it is to be labeled and destroyed and left to die (in my case, untreated HIV/AIDS...which it seems I've been healed of....), that...I'm not big on this line of thinking. it reminds me of margaret thatcher saying that there's "no such thing as society," when really...

social forces shape our lives, big time. remember, Jesus saves us from: sin, satan, self, death, and THE WORLD (society). one cannot ignore the role society and the economy have in our lives. the lower down the totem pole one goes, the more one feels the pressure, the pain, the sheer -force- those "up there" use to keep us all in line.

I find it doesn't matter the leaning of the politician, the homeless and those like you are often ignored. it wasn't until a few vets got involved here that we even had actual homes for the homeless that were willing to start over again. some vets are homeless because the cost of meds and so forth overwhelm them and ptsd and well a record.
