The dilemma for Christians is whether or not they can set aside their own personal indignation for a religion that traps others, long enough to effectively help their fellow sinners out of the trap. This is because Islam is fueled in large part by personal indignation, and religious hypocrites make lousy evangelists for Jesus.:twocents

I listened to a speaker once that used to be part of the plo terrorist organization. He knew the Qur'an, and after he read the bible he converted to christianity. His basis was that the messia that islam is waiting on is the antichrist of the bible.

Islam is not a violent religion, not in any sense.
If one was to simply historically compare the violence "in the name of " Islam ,
to the violence "in the name of" Christianity.. Christ would beat Muhammad hands down, and Christianity should be rightfully called "the most evil , violent religion on Earth" .
If we're going to do a historical comparison, let's at least make it an accurate comparison. Jesus taught non-violence and his first disciples and those who followed them, back for 300+ years, were non-violent. Muhammad on the other hand started with violence as did his followers, for hundreds of years.

Christianity first started and spread based on love for fellow man; Islam first started and spread based on conquest.

And the worst problem in the US today is you cannot say anything about Islam that is true or your being "hateful" or "Inflammatory". People claiming to be Christians but who are not willing to speak the truth or allow those of us willing to speak the truth to do so. The truth will set you free. But not for long in West. Soon we will all be jailed or killed for speaking the truth and it will be too late to start taking a stand. It's such a sad condition that we find ourselves in.

Wow, what a disgusting thread.

Such selective indignation about Islam being "evil" ,..
can only come from people who don't regularly meet and live with your average Muslims.

But this whole idea of labelling an entire religion "violent" is just a silly generalisation.. every religion has followers that are zealots and extremists
which will resort to violence "in the name of " whatever they were culturally handed down to beleive in.

It's so disappointing to see people hop on a "Islam is Evil " bandwagon
as soon as someone hands them the slightest incentive to do so.

I want to add a prophetic slant to this instead of one saying they're right and the other wrong. What I see with the focus on Islam and many of those middle eastern nations in discord right now is the formation of the nations of the King of the South prophesied in Daniel.

Although not as clear yet, another northern confederacy, a revived Roman Empire will arise headed by the beast. The name sounds so derogatory as this person will come on the scene as a Messiah of sorts. This "King of the North" being Assyrian (possibly German or similar) will war with the King of the South. There's other wars at the time of the end, but I'm sure this person will also speak against "The Evil of Islam" and many people fed up with what's going on will agree and side with him.

The problem is, the beast is just as bad, no actually worse, since he will be deceiving people into thinking he's the answer. The beast will have with him the false prophet, the false church.

Now as for your comment that "Christianity" was the most violent, I cannot disagree with that, but notice I put "Christianity" in quotes showing what I think of it. It is not Christ's true church, and the truth is very few are in it right now. Just look at the traditions of men, not supported by scripture, in the church both now and historically, all in the name of Christ.

Both sides (south and north) can be very violent and pig-headed and neither have the truth, but this is not to say one day they won't have it, and they will not necessarily perish--- but rough times are coming before the time of peace.

I see more and more Christians who claim they only hate the religion...and yet the way they speak is really aimed also at the people who are of that belief. (Islam)

It's really showing the sad state of Christianity. I see more hate from christians than nearly anyone else of any belief (or lack of)

We Christians need to get back to the Heart of God and LOVE people...no matter who or what they are.

Because once you start labeling people by their beliefs or lifestyle then they cease to be human in your eyes.

You need to watch the news once in a while. Then you will know what is really going on and how often Islam takes another life.

You need to turn of your TV .
Watching TV news does not equate to "knowing what is really going on"

...and realize that "Islam" does not take lives ,
people take other people's lives under the guise of whatever they believe in.

Agreed. There is something to be said for turning off the news. For any given situation the story will be told differently depending on where you are in the world. It is ignorant to think that it is only "them" who engage in untruths and propaganda or who are biased.

Evil Islam & Evil Muslims! Muslim means a believer in Evil Islam!

Sorry, Lewis, but Muslim certainly does not mean a believer in evil Islam. The term "Muslim" by definition simply means one who "submits to the will of God." The only problem is that, as in any religion, there are Muslims who use violence to achieve certain social and/or political objectives. However, in my experience, the vast majority of Muslims do not advocate violence, but wish to live peacefully with everyone else. I think it is unfair to label all Muslims as violent or as aggressive because of the actions of a few extremists. There are also violent or fanatical groups among Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Hindus, and Buddhists, for example, and that the majority in those groups should not be blamed for the actions of the minority.

At a human level, there are a lot of things that can be said about people from different religions and nationalities. The fact still remains that no matter what the nationality, or religion, or the skin color of a terrorist is, it is not those things, but rather it is the person who commits the evil. Also, the violent acts committed by certain Jews and Christians are not necessarily an indication of the evilness of Christianity nor Judaism. I don't think that Christianity is evil at all. I believe that the same is true for Islam.

Not saying that as an offense against you, Lewis. Just my two cents for now.

The more I hear of Islam the more concerned I am with what is going on with those who practice it throughout the world. I've found a European source of news mostly having to do with Sweden and Denmark. Americans seem to think we are immune to the creeping in of Islam here. We are not. It's just been easier for the Islamists to infiltrate other countries laws and cultures because America is the only country in the world besides Israel that was founded on Godly grounds. God's hedge of protection has been down for America since 9/11/01 and it is crumbling still. We are still defying God and turning away from Him in sooo many ways.

Here is some news from Europe...how soon will Americans be hearing prayer calls from minarets? By the way, here is the prayer: In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being,
the All-Merciful, the All-Compassionate,
the Master of the Day of Doom.
Thee only we serve; to Thee alone we pray for succor. Guide us in the straight path,
The path of those whom Thou hast blessed (the Muslims),
not of those against whom Thou art wrathful (the Jews),
nor of those who are astray (the Christians).

modern isreal allows islam to practiced they also allow gay rights and abortion.
isreal of moses day wouldnt let that fly nor would even the pharisees tolerate that type of sin.

if pedastery was going in isreal or that sin, jesus would have adressed it.

Hate to disagree with you but the OT is full of times when Israel practiced many abominations, such as sacrificing their children to Moloch. And apparently, in Paul's day, homosexuality was well known, according to Romans 1. True, I don't recall any mention of pederasty among the Jews Paul preached to though. I am not happy to read that Israel allows "gay rights and abortion" any more than I am about Islam's "rights". Still, I would think it would be hard for them NOT to "allow" Islamic practices in Israel since they are pressured on every side by the world and Palestinians.

the pharisees wouldn and didnt. see the idea that they brought the adulteress to the the lord. the pharissee were off but not that off when the lord came. isreal at the time didnt own much slaves nor was gayness tolerated. herod was one who sinned and he was what? an edomite forced upon isreal. the pharisee went overboard on the law because they knew if the torah wasnt followed they would serve a harsh master, thus rome was over them.

and ben gurion wanted not to remove any arab from the land if they were there and wanted to stay. my dad told me that he believes the arabs have rights there too.

Sorry to disagree with your dad and ben gurion but they don't have any rights. They are descended from the Philistines which Joshua and others after him conquered and drove out of the land. To give them rights to the land is relinquishing what is rightfully the Israelites given them by God's own hand and Word.

Consider how we took land from the Indians and Mexicans by conquering them; are we required by the world's opinion to give America back to them? How about if the Native Americans were sending suicide bombers to our public places or the Mexicans were shooting rockets at Texas or California? Should we give them land conveniently located so that they could continue the attacks? When was a conqueror ever demanded by the world to give back what was won by THEIR blood and war except for the Israelites?

See 1 Samuel 17:46 for an example of how God dielivered the land into the Israelites hand from the Philistines "This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel."

The outcry by the world to return any part of Israel to the Palestinians is ungodly rhetoric and hatred for the Jews is not too subtly hidden in it.
