We also know God kept that promise....

The true promise of inheritance is in New Heaven & the New Earth. It is completely fulfilled there.

I guess I disagree with you and reba on this. *perhaps* I need to study this more. But I can't fathom the lord not fulfilling a promise on this earth that he made. They have to inherit all of the land and as I believe at this time at least...Jesus will rule them literally, as a nation, over there. You two may be reading a wee bit bit too much allegorical into this perhaps. Or, I just don't get it yet. I do take it awfully literally, that's true.

Jesus is the Seed of the Promise. As the Sovereign over Heaven and earth, which naturally includes all physical land, He fulfills the promise that Abraham's descendent would inherit the promised land. That today's Jews don't recognize their own King in no way diminishes His authority, it just means they are rebellious subjects.

All my life this has been basic fundamental Christian doctrine. Jesus is Lord, Christ is King.

When does he take His own throne? Rev 4:1 I will show you things (What things?) that must be hereafter (When?) . . Rev 4:2 A throne is set in heaven . . Rev 4:8 Who sat upon that throne? . . which was, and is, and is to come. Is this other than Jesus?

I'm thinking your film which I did listen to was to present Jesus as our present King of kings with us working for Him: Jesus took our place, He took our place and died for us, the door is open, and He has adopted us as His child. We are brought in and invited near to share His heart. Why are you doing this? I love you, I have a commission for you; I want you to work for Me, I want you to represent Me.

To me Jesus is presently walking among the candlesticks as judge written of in Revelation Chapters Two and Three, and as our intercessor sitting in His Father's throne. As a son of God I have been born of Him and adopted into all the privileges Jesus possesses. Gentile nations continue to rule which they won't when Jesus takes the all authority and power given Him and exercises it. Do we not go to our Father's throne of grace to obtain grace, and mercy in our time of need at this present time? Jesus is the door to that present bold access we have. In heaven what will it be to follow Jesus as King of kings and Lord of lords, and reign with Him? That my brother is yet to come.

So do you think that there is no hope for Israel? Considering the depths of Gods love for His people, I doubt it that they are beyond hope.

After they rejected their Messiah God abandoned them once for all except for the remnant in Paul's time. Jesus said that their house would be "left DESOLATE." This means that they would cease to be a race and they did. Anthropology confirms that the physical seed of Abraham is gone.

What needs to be understood is that modern Israel is not the Israel of scripture, they are not the descendants of Abraham. There is no race of Jews today! The Encyclopedia Britannica (Vol. 12, p. 1054) 1973 says, "The findings of physical anthropology show that, contrary to the popular view, there is no Jewish race."Jewish author, Camille Honig, editor of The Jewish Voice, wrote (Nov, 1953),"It is sheer nonsense, as well as unscientific, to speak of a Jewish race. Jews do not belong to a single homogeneous group."

This is acknowledged by historians of all stripes who know that the Ashkenaz Jews of today were, in fact, Gentiles in origin. Ashkenaz Jews, who comprise the vast majority of those calling themselves Jews today, trace their lineage back to Gomer, who in turn was descended from Japheth, the son of Noah (Genesis 10:3; 1 Chronicles 1:4f). However, the lineage of Abraham came through Noah's son Shem, not Japheth. This is incredibly important, and yet, is being essentially ignored by most Bible students today.

Thus, for modern prophecy teachers to proclaim that Israel remains the chosen people of God, is a falsehood, for Biblical Israel does not exist today. There is no nation of Israel, descended from Abraham, today.

But, it is not only wrong from a purely ethnic/racialperspective, to speak of the restoration of Israel today, it is also wrong from a Biblical perspective. The nation of Israel was never intended to be God's ultimate "People." He had something else in mind, something which even the nation of Israel typified. Yet, programs like Wings of Eagles, by claiming that Israel remains the chosen people, whom the modern church must support at all costs, are tacitly guilty of rejecting what God had in mind as the actual goal of Israel's destiny.

The idea of a restored Israel is a modern myth, for Biblical Israel, physically descended from Abraham, simply does not exist. She ceased to exist in A.D. 70. The "Jews" in Israel today are Ashkenaz, and are Gentiles by race. Even Jewish anthropologists admit that there is no ethnic race of Israel to day.

I'm going to look for a scripture to describe Israels eventual return to God. I'm pretty sure it's in there somewhere.

Make sure you find the contingency clauses too.

I know God has withdrawn from Israel plenty of times when they did not obey, left them to wander the desert for 40 years for it and so forth...but I don't think they are beyond hope.
Perhaps this is why God is dealing with Israel differently than with the church (or gentiles).
