Do you know that you are still in bondage? But you say Jesus has already liberated me from sin and death…and the answer is yes. If you have receive the Holy Spirit and you’re being lead by it, you have been set free from the consequences of sin, but you are still in bondage. There is another kind of bondage to which we are yet to be set free from, and that is our liberation from the physical laws that govern our bodies.

What do I mean? I’m not just speaking about getting old and dyeing, but all our limitations by which we are subjected: the laws of physics. The laws of physics prevent us from being in several places at the same once. The laws of physics cause us to be confined to the earth, because we need to breathe air in order to live. Ever since man has been on the earth he has tried to go beyond the physical limitations that we all are subjected to. At first we use the horse or the camel, for example to get us from one place to the other, carrying loads at faster or farther than one person could manage.

Then thousands of years later we invented the train, which was a break through in technology in its time. But with all this we were still in bondage to those physical laws. Then we invented the automobile and the airplane, where we try to defy the law of gravity, and giving us seemingly more independence…..if just in a limited way. But we were still in bondage to those laws. Then we invented the rocket, which finally gave us the ability to break the invisible cord that hold us to the earth, but still in all that we were still in bondage to the laws of physics.

Finally we reach to our time were we have experienced mind boggling advancements of technology that if our ancestors could ever see us now they would be amazed to say the least, at what we have accomplished since the time of the horse drawn cart…..but still with all this we are still in bondage. And we will continue to be in bondage until the glorious return of Jesus, the Christ where we will be changed; the mortal (those who are in Christ) has put on immortality and we are given a body like that of Jesus. Then and only then will we be not only liberated from sin, but also no longer held captive to the laws of physics that governs us….we will be free. Not only our mind and body will be liberated but even creation will be liberated from the bondage of decay and corruption. But please understand, the creation is not just talking about this earth, but the entire universe, because that too is God’s creation.

Romans 8:20-23 (ASV)
20 For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but by reason of him who subjected it, in hope
21 that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for our adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

1 John 3:2 (ASV)
2 Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is.

1 Corinthians 15:53-54 (ASV)
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

The creation will not be liberated from its bondage until the children of God have been liberated from their bondage. In fact it’s the Children of God that will liberate the creation from its bondage.

No longer will we get old then die, no longer will we get tired, and we will not have the need to sleep or take a break. We will suffer no physical pain or get hungry for something to eat. We will still enjoy eating, but not based on need but simply for pleasure…..but with by far more heightened sense of taste, since we will have no ailment of any kind. We will be able to enjoy the natural surroundings with all the four seasons without feeling the pain of winter cold or the heat of the summer. The modern gadgets that we use, such as a car, computer, airplane, boat, space shuttle, just to name a few will no longer be needed, because our body and mind will no longer be in subjection to the natural laws that all physical things are govern by. We will be truly free at last.

Most do not consider the universe being effected by sin, however if we look back in Genesis in relation to Romans 8:20-22,
Genesis 3:17-18 And unto Adam he said, Because you have listened unto the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it: cursed is the ground for your sake; in sorrow shall you eat of it all the days of your life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to you; and you shall eat the plants of the field;

All things were affected by Adam's sin, and through Jesus (New Adam 1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a life-giving spirit.), all things will be liberated.
Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

The consiquences of sin is a lot more than we might believe.
