No, when we are saved the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in us:
Romans 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
Eph 1:13-14 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
I do not agree with the Pentecostal views on tongues. The only mention of tongues as a symbol of the Holy Spirit are after Pentecost in Acts. Nowhere does scripture say this is the only evidence of the Holy Spirit. This tongue speaking was likely speaking foreign languages to communicate the gospel to far off nations.
The balance of the NT does not teach there is a requirement to speak in tongues and nowhere else is it mentioned. In fact, there is evidence that says speaking in tongues is one of many gifts believers may possess, but is not mandatory for salvation.
1 Corinthians 12:28-31 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.
