I have not asked this in about 3 years, who here will put up outside lights and put up a Christmas tree. Or are you one of those who can't do it because of it's pagan origin ? I myself get a live tree every year and I put up outside lights, I love it.

I'm kind of, "Bah Humbug" on all the work of putting up lights, but I dig driving up to the house at night when they are twinkling away.

Going through the stage of what have 'they' done to Christmas..I was soap boxing at mom... She said something like...
He is the Light of the World.. and the whole world lights up...

Should ??? i think it is sorta falls in the category like the glass of wine or meat offered to idols

Jeremiah 10:2-5 This is what the LORD says: "Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them. For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman SHAPES it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter. Like a scarecrow in a melon patch, their IDOLS cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good."

I can take it or leave it. For me I struggle every year with the commercialism and excessiveness (is that a word?) of how we traditionally celebrate Christmas so for me the season can almost drag me down.

This is not an accusation against you personally, Lewis but just an observation on something I've noticed is quite common. Why can't people ask questions without including something that puts down people who disagree them, before they even get a chance to answer? Why do you imply that everyone who doesn't celebrate Christmas or put up lights or a tree, really wants to, but "can't" because it's Pagan and God won't let them? How about "I can, but choose not to because of its Pagan origins"? Is that not an option?
