What is digital data? (lengthy read ahead) Maybe you have used a digital camera before, or played a cd, dvd, or blu-ray. Digital means involving digits or numbers, and in the case of digital data, zero's and ones. Music in the real world is analogue, when it is recorded it is sampled, quantitized, converted to digital form by an analog-to-digital-convertor. (A/D)

It is in this digital form, it is stored in a computer, where it can then be transferred over the internet, or burned to CD by a CD burner, or simply played in a media player. In order for the digital data to be heard by your ears. It must be converted from digital data, back to analog, by the analog-to-digital convertor. (D/A)
The D/A creates a weak, analog, electrical signal, which is fed to a power amp, which then uses a strengthened electrical signal, to alternate electrical current between coils of wire, and magnets in a speaker.

The result is sound from the speaker, When current flows one way through the coil, the magnet is repelled by, or attracted to, the magnetic field created by the electric current of the speaker coils. This moves the speaker one way, if you reverse the current, the speaker moves the other way.

But this does not create recognizable music, for that you must provide alternating current. The computer regulates the movements of the speaker, to create the illusion of music. This is similar to how single pictures in a filmstrip, create the illusion of movement, this is your "frame rate". Where most television is 60HZ or 60 cycles per second, and most movies are 24HZ, this can be likened to a single frame or filmstrip, that when played continuously, creates the illusion of movement. So too does this process occur in digital audio.

The single "frame" is the sample, and that is determined by the "sample rate". The sample rate for CD is 44.100hz. That means that the computer is providing 44,100 samples per second to the D/A, and then the pre amp, and then the power amp, and then to the speaker. When you burn a CD with a CD burner, it is actually using a laser to burn a vast string of 0's, and 1's, around the CD, those are the samples. Which a CD player reads and feed's to the CD players computer and D/A convertor, piping it back out as sound.

What does all this have to do with Jesus? That is coming, but you must first learn actually what digital data is.

We know that digital data is long combinations of zero's, and one's. But did you know it comes down to individual 1's and 0's? In a factory, a master CD is made by using a laser that etches bumps (called pits), onto the surface of a CD. A pit is the number ZERO. The lack of a burned surface or flat undisturbed surface, is called land. Land represents ONE. So no matter complicated digital data is (and it is very long and complicated), it all comes down to a ZERO, or a ONE.

Now we will start comparing Jesus to digital data. 1 John 2:18 "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time." There are MANY antichrist, but only ONE Jesus Christ.

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jesus is saying he is the truth, the life, and the way, and no man comes to the father but by him. Consider a 1 like being something, VS a 0 being nothing. The 1 being life, VS the zero being death. The 1 being positive, VS the zero being negative.

Hebrews 2:14 "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;"
Jesus gave his life on the cross to destroy the works of the devil. This verse tells us the devil has power over death. This makes him the zero. Death being the absence of life. The opposite of being with the heavenly father. Ironically enough, the makers of CD's chose the terminology of "pits", to represent or call a zero on a compact disc, and the flat even surface is called lands.

A lie would be the opposite of the truth. What does scripture say about the devil and lies? John 8:44 "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."

If there is no truth in the devil, that means he is the absolute lie. The opposite of that is the absolute truth. Who is the absolute truth? Jesus Christ!

Lets look at a few bible verses pointing to Jesus being the absolute truth.

1 Peter 2:22 "Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth"

2Corinthians 5:21 "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

A lie is unrighteousness. Sin is unrighteousness There was no unrighteousness in Jesus. A few verses about righteousness that relates to the truth.

John 7:18 "He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him."

Psalm 119:42 "Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth"

The bible says the lake of fire awaits liars. Revelation 21:8 "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Jesus (as a man) said none are good but God. (Mark 10:18), and Mathew 5:48 "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect "

Christ is perfection, the devil is imperfection.
Christ is life, the devil is death
Christ is truth, the devil is lies

Jesus is like the 1, and the devil is the 0.

1 John 4:4 "
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."

That verse suggest there is a balance. A grey area between the zero and the one. Would that mean "lukewarm"?

Revelation 3:16 "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."
Jesus describes lukewarm as neither cold nor hot. Like being between either the zero or the one (digital data), between a yes or no, between a true or false. Not both.

1 Corinthians 10:21 "Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils."

Comparing Jesus to the 1 in digital data can really broaden your understanding of the world around you. We are to be wise as serpents, and innocent as doves. What is true, what is lies? There is simplicity in Jesus!
