Salvation:

  • The eternal preservation of our entire being, spirit, soul, and body, from all enemies, including death.

Salvation is being saved from the righteous judgment of God, who will condemn sinners to eternal damnation.

Strongs: 4991 - soteria

  1. deliverance, preservation, safety, salvation
    1. deliverance from the molestation of enemies

    2. in an ethical sense, that which concludes to the soul's safety or salvation
      1. of Messianic salvation
  2. salvation as the present possession of all true Christians

  3. future salvation, the sum of benefits and blessings which the Christians, redeemed from all earthly ills, will enjoy after the visible return of Christ from heaven in the consummated and eternal kingdom of God.

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Romans 8:24-25

Paul balances the salvation we have now through faith, using the language of faith, which is hope, with the salvation we will obtain in reality when He returns to gather His people at the resurrection and rapture.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for.

whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:8-9

Peter also uses the language of faith to teach us of receiving the salvation of our soul, as the end result of our faith.

Here's a bromide for you:
"I have been saved.
I am being saved.
And I will be saved
when He comes again to renew all things."

In this life, we have salvation through faith in Christ, in which we have His Spirit within us, transforming us, and leading us to live a life of righteousness, expressing our faith by love.

We are joined to Christ, and are one Spirit with Him, in that we have the eternal life that is in Christ Jesus, within us, even though our physical body will die.

The exception is those who will be raptured, as they will be caught up with those who are resurrected from the dead.

This event occurs when He returns to gather His people, on the last Day.

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:27-28

  • He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:6-9

  • receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

This occurs at the coming, or appearing, or revelation of our Lord Jesus, when He gathers us together at the resurrection and rapture.

  • that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

Jesus described it this way -

35 But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; 36 nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. Luke 20:35-36

  • nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God

Paul said it this way -

For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Romans 8:19-25

  • For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
  • But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Let’s be those people who are counted worthy to attain that age and the resurrection from the dead, and are found to be persevering in the trials of this life, practicing righteousness and being led by the Spirit, when He comes on that glorious Day.

salvation as the present possession of all true Christians
Eternal irrevocable salvation is something Jesus died to deliver to the world's faithful. I don't entertain any effort to argue to the contrary.
Good day.

Are you opposed to what Jesus' definition of Salvation is?

Here is Jesus definition.

12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. Luke 8:12

  • lest they should believe and be saved.

Short definition-

Believe = Saved
