I have a bunch of books I'd like to cover here, but I'm going to limit this thread to just one:

He Came To Set The Captives Free
by Dr. Rebecca Brown

An eye opener.
This book by a medical doctor (and the woman she rescued) is about her work to help a satanic high priestess escape one of the worst covens in the United States.
This is probably the most enlightening book you'll come across with regard to spiritual warfare on the front lines. If you are fainthearted with regard to hardcore satanic activities, you may want to pass it up. Even though I got really angry over the heartless practices of this group, I was still drawn to re-read the book because it spoke so much to me about the reality of spiritual things and the assault on churches which are well cloaked. The ex-high preistess wrote her share of the book also, so you're getting it from the horse's mouth. Also, this shows people that those who have been deep into satanism pay a high price to get out, and those who help risk their lives. Things that people write off as mystical or mythical, are dealt with firsthand in this book explaining what operates behind the scenes.

After reading it, you'll probably want to contact this lady, but she would not reveal her location due to becoming a target by the coven again. She does have a website now, though.

She also has a sequel to the book that brings much more to light:

Prepare for War
by Dr. Rebecca Brown

She includes other instances that ocurred as well as a great deal of insight in the deceptions of spiritists. This includes cautions for us in our spiritual walk and the pitfalls out there.

I read these books right after being saved sometime in the early ninties. They were the most amazing books ever. They sound fiction they are so full of the supernatural, but to those who know how the enemy works will realize how real they are. It would be interesting to reread them.

Yeah - don't touch Rebecca Brown. When she wrote this book she was an hallucinating lying drug addict who lost her medical licence for drugging a mentally-impaired teenager; hardly the actions of a genuine follower of Christ. She does not speak the truth about witchcraft or spiritual warfare. Avoid her writings like the plague. Her current 'exorcism' practice leaves a lot to be desired too; when she came to London, I was going to go to the meetings to see what she was like now, but I was told by mature Christians that my life would physically be in danger from their treatment.

I read one of her books, it may have been this one, but I don't recommend her at all for the same reasons others posted. BTW, I read her book before I knew she was a hoax.

I am quite glad you came to understand that it was not to be believed.

Yeah, I read these books in the late 80s when all the 'Satanic' hype was in full swing. Though what some of what she is saying CAN happen and does, it is just too full of sensationalist stories and erroneous biblical teachings.

Her 'Prepare for War' completely misinterprets the idea of what the 'soul' , and 'spirit' is and there are many other biblical contradictions to her logic.

It is fun reading though! :biggrin
