The Nature of Islam
Dr. Mark Gabriel's book, Islam and Terrorism, is must reading for anyone who wants to understand the true nature of Islam. It is easy to read and has become a best seller.
Dr. Gabriel was born and raised in Egypt and had the Koran memorized by the age of 12. He became a professor of Islamic history at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, the world's premier Islamic school. When he began to question some of the principles of Islam, he was immediately arrested and tortured. During the following year of constant persecution, he was given a Bible by a Christian pharmacist. The Bible led him to Jesus, and he became a Christian.
When it became known that he had rejected Islam, his father tried to kill him. He was forced to flee to South Africa, but assassins were sent to kill him, and they almost succeeded. Finally, he fled to the United States where he was granted religious asylum. Today, he travels extensively all across America telling the truth about Islam. As he puts it, "The history of Islam is a river of blood."
