The faith healings seem to rely upon human's ignorance of diseases rather than any real effect. People sometimes get better without a doctor's help or medicine. We don't fully understand all of the ways the body can heal itself or all the vunerabilities of the diseases.

If faith healing is real, we should see some healing on things we fully understand such as God regenerating a lost limb. That should be just as easy to God as any other cure, but I have yet to hear of a case of this.

Also, if Christians have faith healing that is not available to everyone else, then we should be able to see Christians having better survival rates for diseases. For example, less Christians should die from cancer than non-Christians if there is such a thing as faith healing. I have not seen a study that shows this to be the case.

I haven't experienced or seen the instant healing like in the Bible but I believe everything in the Bible actually happened.

What is more important? Growing a limb back that perhaps you lost in an accident or having peace of mind?
When I look at some things that are close around me, I don't have to think about this very hard.

I haven't experienced or seen the instant healing like in the Bible but I believe everything in the Bible actually happened.

I am very skeptical of these claims. I also see people profitting from these ideas. It may be as simple as "promote my ministry as I go around the world and heal people" or "buy my bracelet soaked in holy water and blessed by a priest." Or it could be as dangerous as "don't go to a doctor, pray away your medical problems."

Remember, the Bible was made by men who voted on it. God did not set up the Bible. For example, if you are protestant, you probably believe that the Catholics did not do a good enough job making the Bible since the protestant bible is different. But also, you have to decide which parts of the Bible are true or not. For example, Mark 16:9-20 may or may not really be part of it. However, if you believe this part to be true, then you should believe that "And these signs will accompany those who believe: ... and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all."

Yet we know that Christians die from drinking deadly poisons. So be careful what you believe.

I would agree with you that peace of mind is better. However, I worry about people falling victim to faith healing scams.

I agree Quath. God gave us doctors and plants for medicine for a reason. We should use what he has given us. On that same note, it could swing the other way too. Take ADD for instance. It's the most misdiagnosed item out there. And Prosac... wow... designer drugs at their finest :-? ...

Yeah, I watched some show where this preacher was supposed to be healing this gal. You've seen the pictures where the preacher hits the person on the head and the person falls back... and if you put this gal in slow motion, you could see where the gal braced herself for impact just as she was getting ready to hit the floor after the preacher "Healed" her. : ooooookey doookey... :-D

I'm not saying that healing doesn't happen in todays world. I know that it does.... I just don't think it should be extorted...
