Our Daughter's Art Career Takes Off!

Our older daughter is a senior in high school, and she just received her acceptance letter from Center for Creative Studies last night! And, she was awarded a scholarship that will pay for half of her tuition! This is a highly competitive school near by in Detroit. When we were meeting with the admissions counselor, we were waiting in the lobby with a family from California and another from Iowa.

So we are celebrating in Casa de Mike, and proud me wants to share a few paintings and drawings from her portfolio that she submitted with her application. FYI, the disturbing painting is the Joker from an up coming movie.

Thanks, Mike. It's more than like a foreign language. It's like a mode of communication from another planet that artists possess. I can hardly make a face look like a face, let alone make it look somewhat realistic, and I could never ever make it look like a specific person.
